Am I Too Short?

How important is it really? I'm only 5'4", and I noticed that no matter how interesting I am, or how much social proof I have, it seems nearly impossible to get girls. At parties, I'll be all the stuff that gives someone value. For example, whenever me and my boys roll through to a party, I'm usually the one calling the shots (leader of men, and social proof). And because of my sense of humor, I draw the crowd and when I'm speaking, others listen. To put it in simple terms, I get others to invest themselves in me. But when it comes down to it, my height always seems to be the problem when trying to get with a girl.

Most even say it blatantly, "you're too short." To which I respond by saying, "Hey, I'm big where it matters, so it's all good."

But I still can't seem to attract them enough.

In addition, at most parties I start off with talking to some frat brothers to get on their good side so I can be the 'man' of the party. I do this because men aren't as shallow as to the appearance of another male that they are talking to, and I can use them later on to help me gain value.

However, if I ask a girl to come dance, it's always the same response, "you're small." Some try to act nice and say "I already danced," but it's obvious what they are thinking.

Any ideas? I really can't think of a solution to my height problem. Let me know if you have any solutions.

I'm also a short guy bro about 5'5 compared to my friends that I usually hang out. They are 5'7, 5'8 tall. Sometimes it's frustrating to know that most of the girls that we target for picking up tend to get more attracted to taller guys. Yes, it is true that they are more into taller guys, but some girls don't and they don't have any preferences with regard to height. Just keep your game cool and work on some areas in order for you to be more attractive to girls.

The thing with short guys is that it doesnt tick off that "he can protect me" switch. So you gotta find a way to get that going. I know a guy who is 5'5 that gets more p*ssy than anyone I know. He is former military war vet and a competitive Brazilian jiu jitsu guy. You can feel his presence from the other room he is so alpha.

I think height issues can get into our way when picking up with women. I don't have any problems on this matter but I have some friends who are facing some difficulties in picking up women because of their height. However, there are some who are lucky enough to pick up gorgeous girls in spite of their short heights.

I am really short and skinny so I have the same problem. I am way more alpha than every one else in the room, and I still have to pull all the stops to have women notice me much of the time. I have found that I just have to initiate much more of the time. Once you start the conversation, your height doesn't really matter as long as you got the alpha thing working for you.

Being short can really make us guys insecure, especially when meeting up with gorgeous girls taller then us. There's nothing we can do about that. We should compensate it by trying to be effective in communication. I know girls love men who knows how to communicate well.

I can say that being short has a certain disadvantage when picking up with girls. For them, a tall guy is something sexy and dominant. Most girls loves that type of guy. However, there are some girls who dig shorter guys because of their great sense of humor and a great companion.

Being short is not the end of the game. It may be a minus point against you in picking up women. But hey, who says success in picking up women is in the height? I'm sure a few PUA experts here have something to say when you are challenged because of being short.

I have friends who are a much shorter than me who are really really really good with women. Height is going to get you through the first 30 seconds of meeting someone, but after that it is all about your personality.

Plenty of short guys are GREAT with women, and plenty of tall guys are horrible with women.

It will only effect your game if you allow your frame to see it as a negative, cause then it will impact your body language, confidence and other sub-communication aspects.

A lot of women SAY they want a guy such and such tall. Because she is clued in on that feeling of physical protection.

But the reality is this:

1) She will be triggered faster to attraction with height.

2) You can trigger attraction with her if you aren't tall. You just need to learn the strategies we teach - which guys need anyway!

3) This is a BIG sticking point for guys in their inner game. Height is (ironically) biggest in your mind.

Consider all the guys in hollywood that are dinky short...
Tom Cruise: 5'7" (maybe less...)
Dustin HOffman: 5'4"
Al Pacino: 5'7" (probably less...)

Yeah, you can argue that being a movie star is a bigger factor, but these guys are pretty Alpha in their own right.

Ask yourself this question: Do I get more perverse self-satisfaction for using height as an excuse to not hone my pickup skills?

After all, it's like looking for the flaw in any woman. Look hard enough and you WILL find it.

Is it just an easy way to dismiss yourself?

Or are you going to knuckle up and get your shit together and stop letting other people's reality dictate your own?

^^ Very cool post, thanks Carlos. I'm 5'8, in Germany that is very short, and I have no issues at all. (actually, they have the issue, I prefer the shorter women, lol)

I prefer taller guys myself. I like being able to look up at them, especially since am fond of wearing heels. It sounds superficial but height commands a degree of attention and/or respect, at least, initially.

But like what the others have said, there are many short men out there who get the girl they want. I think a great deal of it has something to do with the fact that they have come to terms with their limitations and decided that it doesn't really matter.

I'm guessing, no matter how well you're engaging women, you still come off as insecure about your height. After all, these are different girls we're talking about and they all say the same thing (according to you). So unless you embrace the fact that you are short, then you may never recognize the girls who can appreciate you despite your height (or big nose, or super hairy arms or whatever) and still keep going for girls that you have to 'convince' that you're ok despite your height.

Alpha males don't say that doing this and that makes them alpha males. They just are. And the proof is they get the girl, no excuses.

Exactly - anyone who has seen me or knows me knows that I am bald. Of course I was better looking with hair, but I do not let this 'physical' aspect that I can not control change my frame.

And anyone who knows me knows I am very good at attracting women... but I made a conscious decision that my lack of hair just doesn't matter.

5'8" here aswell, and in Norway thats below average height, but the height has never been an issue and shouldnt, as previous mentioned.. Its never an issue before you yourself make it an issue. Dont let it ruin your frame ! Walk up to the girl as if youre 6'2", with guns blazing and she wont care what height you are.

Indeed. Height matters to most women. But I realized why should I be disappointed. Instead of going out with taller girls, I should go for shorter ones or the same height as mine.Petite girls are also pretty and gorgeous.

What they said, but also:


Wear a hot, preferable brimmed or tall.

wear heels, cowboy style or clogs.. sketchers has some for men (drastic, but, not doing it may be limiting you,)'

Big hair, curly or stood up, even if messy, if it's got that "I did this" style or some hair gel.

Bulk up. all guys have the capacity to put some muscle on, may take work but, worth it?

Stand further back initially, from men and women. they won't be looking down at you, and if interested may cause a women to come closer, or lean in.

when you can work it, pick sitting chicks, or a place to sit where you can 'troll' from.

shoulder pads (cheesy? prolly not, make sure they're natural with your shirt/ jacket) or a broad-shoulder cut shirt, flannel, or cowboy... a lot of cowboy boots have heels too so, this may work together.

If an option, pick shorter chicks. Not saying you've got to turn down tall ones, but if it's a target rich environment, your time invested may be better used with shawtys.

Just a few advise, I don't think height is a severely limiting handicap, remember, physical anything is near the last on the lsit except for how you take care of yourself/ effort shown. If you're dressed nice, ooze confidence and say the right things, it'd take a pretty shallow beast to dis you based on height. Think "Danny Divito"


Good comeback to anychick who disses your height would be "I was just thinking you're a little too amazon for me anyway...that and I like skinny chicks." (or some softer put variation of that

We don't have to lose our hope in getting the girl we like just because we are not tall enough for them. I agree that girls are more attracted to taller guys. But what matters most is how you handle your relationships with girls and how far you can go with them.

Sorry to be blunt but are you even sure you're actually the man of the hour, not some court jester your friends use to reel chicks in? What if prowling with your friends keep backfiring and instead, you're providing all these girls with some guy to compare you to? Look at yourself in the mirror, man, and be honest. If you're boyish or soft-looking, maybe the night scene shouldn't also be your playing field. You may do better in libraries or groceries. Or you may talk too much or too soft which can draw attention to your height. My lawyer friend is ugly as hell and is shorter than you but he gets laid all the time. Heck, even pros do him for free. So really, you're doing something wrong and blaming it on your height. Quit it and read articles on confidence and inner game instead.

I guess what matters most here is your personality. I will exceed your physical features. Although, first impressions are seen primarily on the physically aspects, there are impressions though that are from personality and the impact during the first meeting.

Open a set by bringing a girl along with you, drag her by the belt buckle, and then when you are introducing her ask her "fark, what is your name?!" . I don't care if your 3 '3 , you will be the tallest guy in the set.
