    I tend to dodge questions about myself... they get suspicious

    I still ended up getting the K-close from a HB8 at the bar, but I didn't know how to handle it when she called me out on not knowing anything about me. Her initial few turn away's from my lips proved that I didn't really tackle the obstacle as well as I could've.

    Anyone have tips on answering this in a flirty way?

    This is a good thing.

    Here's my typical response to such things:

    "I don't talk about myself. If you want to get to know me you can spend time with me, but I'm not going to pitch myself. I don't care enough and I'm horrible at it. I'm not that cool either. I'm pretty lame actually."

    disqualify yourself to make her invest further. Works like a charm.

    konman, I usually use cocky jokes to fill in things that I don't want her to know, but I will later share more stuff with her;

    HB: "Where are you from?"
    Me: "Like everywhere."

    HB: "How old are you?"
    Me: "Old enough to be legal."

    Always say them jokingly. Another good one is, "Does XYZ actually matter?" Those are small ones, can't really think of them. Post or PM me with questions you don't like and I'll try and give you answers that will make her not even care. Lol.

    And Cody, I have a question about your quote. I don't mean to sound dumb or offend, but with the section that says "I'm not that cool either. I'm pretty lame actually." i feel is more like self-deprecation, i think you could just stop that at "I'm horrible at it."

    It's cocky funny. I say it because I'm obviously not. It's an airy statement with no intent behind it. It also shows how I don't care what she thinks. I say I'm lame and if she thinks so then whatever, I don't really care. Her validation means nothing.

    Hard to READ inflection Haha.

    Yeah, it's hard to explain some of that stuff without writing a bible :P I guess it varies depending on what kind of game your running too. I could see where what you said would be much more ideal for nightgame whereas I mostly run daygame. In general, don't think too hard about it though, right? :P

    See the downfall to "not thinking about it so hard" is I'm really more into the mechanics of why it works, not really that it just does. I do this in hopes that I can "innovate" the game, or just fine tune my own, lol. I really like the idea of social dynamics, and hate doing things just cuz they work, I need to know why they work and make every word that leaves my mouth perfect for that moment in time. But yea, I can see how over analyzing everything can sometimes lead to the wrong ideas. And, like you said, different types of game.
