Default New to here and need some help with openers

Hello, this is my first post and hopefully someone can help me out. A little back story - I broke up with my girlfriend of just under 9 years a couple months ago. This is the first time I've been single since I was 17. So basically, I have 0 game. I went out with my friends a lot the last couple of years while I was still attached and I did manage to get a lot of numbers at times (never did anything with them after I got them). It seems like now that I'm single, I'm not doing well at all. I've gotten 2 numbers in a couple months. My buddy introduced me to the game and I read that already. It has opened me up to some new ideas and led me to this forum. I have made the decision I'm going to stay single for a long time since I think everyone needs that time to themselves to figure things out.

My biggest problem is being able to approach women in a regular bar type setting. In clubs, on dance floors, I seem to do a little better. I'm a good dancer, so I usually get a lot of attention from women with that and I have been told many times by them that I'm good. I'm very good with body language which just happens to be a coincidence to apparently being good with women and is mentioned in the game a lot. Before I was single, I got interested in it and read about 6 different books on it -- so as far as that, I'm alright. I know I have read many times the best way to get over this fear of approaching is to just keep doing it. I feel like I need to have some go to openers that have a good success rate. I've looked around on here, but I haven't been able to locate any yet. Is there a thread with this info or do you guys have some go to openers that will work in most situations? I tend to freeze or not having anything good to say when I approach or I can tell by their body language I'm pissing them off/annoying them. I would appreciate any help.

Body language is a great thing and it is very important, but in the greater scope of things, it's not the be all and end all. Of course you're gonna get that type of body language at first - it would be odd if you didn't. She's puzzled - "Why is this guy approaching me?"

This is where the fun comes in - have a reason to approach her. You're shopping for clothes - ask for an opinion. Opinion openers tend to get replies, so go with those. This is where your knowledge of body language comes in - project your voice, position yourself properly, etc. Also, since this is the first interaction, try not to focus too much on her body language. Again, it's important, but everything comes together without one being all that more important than the other.

    Good luck!

I appreciate the help. You gave a lot of good tips and that link has a lot of useful openers. I'm going to try to come up with some this week and test them out this week and weekend. I have nothing better to do while I'm off for 2 weeks than to go try to meet women.

What's up man and welcome to the forums...

The first thing you need to realize is that you have no where to go from here but UP! If you're game isn't top notch right now and you haven't been doing well recently...KEEP TRYING. Practice makes perfect.

With that being said, try to not even think about having a successful opener because in the grand scheme of things...SHE WILL NOT EVEN REMEMBER WHAT YOU SAID TO HER. And this is true 95% of the time (my own guess )...but seriously bro, just go over and use a situational opener then begin to progress into some solid game.

In many PUA's experiences, an opener is only used to initiate conversation...NOT to build attraction. You already said you have good body language which is great! Many guys struggle with this at first so just be confident and open a conversation ANY way you want. Compliment something specific about her outfit, give her a friendly neg, etc. etc. etc.

Good luck bro and stick with it....practice makes perfect...and practicing pick up will not only improve your love life...but your ENTIRE social life as well...I can't tell you how many doors in my life have opened up just by being a friendly, confident Alpha Male.

Hi TheRock001. First of all, I am not going to sympathize with your recent break-up, but I gonna congrat you that you've regained your freedom .

ShoreGuy28 is right, just keep trying and polish your skill up. Do not afraid of rejection. Someone told me this - Don't take rejection too seriously, because the one who gets rejected the most is the one who leaves with the most numbers.

    Good luck!!!

Thanks for the tips guys. I'm going to try to work on some situational openers. I'm heading out with some friends tonight so I'll see what I can do. If you have any resources on good ideas for situational openers, feel free to point me in the right direction.
