    Default Conversation starters/topics.

Hey guys, so I have a small problem with a girl at work i'm picking up. We talk a lot and it's going pretty good, but it's come to a point where all the pretty obvious topics of conversation have been exhausted. Now I can keep a conversation going and flirty with her, it's just starting the conversation up without bringing up the same stuff every time.

So my question is, what are some good general conversation starters that I can use to get the ball rolling?

Please refrain from very obvious ones, as I have most likely already used them. Thanks!

A nice tip for this sort of stuff is to read the paper... a trashy one not the proper stuff. The news can provide all sorts of great jump off points as celebrities do some really stupid stuff.

obviously stay off the sensitive topics i.e. religion etc.

Alternatively, having a few good anecdotes up your sleeve is always helpful or just things that happen into your day-to-day life. I acciendentally walked into the womens changing rooms in from of a whole gym full of people... that story normally gets a laugh.

I would go in with a funny story, and then ask if she had a similar experience.
Other than the obvious ones. I just start with whatevers on my mind. Throughout the day we all have random thoughts, i keep track of all my thoughts because i can use them in conversations. for example i do a lot of observation on everything so i usually share a lot of my observations, and sometimes ask why, because im generally curious.
Also, you dont always have to talk with someone, silence is good sometimes. just try to have fun. usually when im with girls, i do pranks on them, or order them around for fun. we just enjoy each others company. so dont stress and keep a clear mind, it will come to you

I think this is a common problem, it's what's alluded to in my changing texts thread, in which I've asked for ideas about how to mix texts up. I hate the idea of texting boring meandering texts which are the typical 'hey, how are you?'.,,you can't always text silly questions like asking what the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man would cook over his bonfire and so...what instead?

I guess celeb stories are a logical go to point. The same as any TV show that you might both watch, the weather boring why? Because people talk about it. If you add in future events and random facts that might be interesting then maybe you'll get somewhere. A lot of the chat quality is dictated by presentation rather than material. Have you ever watched a TV show about something you would normally find boring and yet, the presenter fills the show with charisma and you get in to actually enjoying the show against your better judgment.

I've read that women like passion, it does t matter what the passion is about as long as you talk with passion.

Finally you could test subjects, throw random ideas at her and see how she reacts.

Ideas could include...have you ever thought about going parachuting? Have you ever been fishing? If you had to work for a charity, which would it be?

Once you get that question out of the way, it's down to you to make good of the conversation.

There are always things to talk about it's just that we all try so hard to find something that our natural side dries up, we enter panic mode and consequently we go dry of material.

Ah yes, Thanks guys I appreciate all of your advice. I've decided to write down a bunch of ideas to go with when I run out of things to say and vaguely remember them, that way it feels more natural when I ask about them because I wouldn't be thinking about it. I hate it when it goes silent for like 30 seconds, I have to think and then bring something up out of nowhere, it seems staged to me. But yeah I found all of your ideas helpful and will use them, Dave-o I found not only your examples but your insight on the subject to be great. I think Iv'e got all I need, and once again Thanks.
