Default Unsure how to proceed: 1-on-1 or out with group?

Today was the second day of class and I chatted up the girl that was sitting next to me when we were on our way out. We talked for a while and she seemed interested. I found out she just arrived to town a few days ago and doesn’t know many people, so I told her that she should come out this weekend and I’ll introduce her to some cool people I know that I have plans with this weekend, and she seemed into it. I realize that I probably should have said something more along the lines of “you seem nice/friendly, we should grab a drink sometime” implying that we do something 1-on-1 in the future. I asked her what the best way to keep in touch is and she told me she doesn’t have a SIM card in the country we’re in yet, but that she’d add me on FB later on in the evening, which she did.

Would it be best/is it still possible to propose something 1-on-1, or should I just invite her out with my friends and I if we go out this weekend? It may be short notice, but there’s a part of town where students gather and drink tomorrow night and I could ask her to join me and my friends there as well. The weekend is approaching and I need to figure out what the best thing to do is. Thanks!

Group dates generally go terrible, at least in my experience. You either end up giving the girl too much attention under the circumstances of it being a group date, or too little to form any sort of bond. It's possible but very difficult.

I would either flat-out ask to see her 1-on-1 instead if you can think of a simple way of doing that, otherwise I'd just go ahead with the group date and write it off as a group thing then invite her 1-on-1 another time, or even split off from the group as a couple later if you think that's a possibility.

From experience, the downside with group is her friends are judging you and will influence her decision about you.

I've had girls interested in me, but due to hanging with her friends, I had to work to win them over...which can work as a double knife...because it can go either way...the girl will like you more or completely avoid you.
