Question Approaching a girl at the gym for a second time?

There is a thread in the "Ask An Expert" section of this site for anyone who wants the full background on my first approach but the shortened version is this: New girl (HB) joined my gym. Is ALWAYS running and NEVER stationary/resting while she is there. Never speaks with anyone. Works out in a ball cap and t-shirt instead of tight, revealing workout clothes like most other girls. I approached while she was on the treadmill and got on the one beside her. Noticed a "Semper Fi" tattoo when her shirt rode up a little. Tried to start a conversation but she brushed me off saying she needed to focus on her workout.

So obviously my approach did not go as I planned. I haven't seen her since that time since I went away for work this week and haven't been at the gym. I know I haven't gotten anywhere with her but I would like to take another shot and make things work with her. I am thinking that her Sepmer Fi tattoo (which means Always Faithful) means she is religious, which explains why she works out in a baseball cap and t-shirt instead of the normal women's gym attire of super tight pants and sport bras. So perhaps she is just shy and that's why she didn't want to talk with me last time? Any advice or tips on how I could make a second approach successful would be appreciated. Thanks guys!

Never approach someone whilst working out. Way too easy for them to feel trapped and then all her defenses are full.

Semper if is Latin forever faithful and the motto of the United States marine corp so second reason to give them space if she isn't a marine then she likely knows one very personally .......

Likely you are dealing with a tomboy mentality and she is likely very tough physically and thinks more masculine than feminine traditional tactics will likely piss her off. That and at the gym people want to be comfortable so baseball cap and tee might be what she feels comfortable in.
