haha nice...a computer illiterate amoger huh?? seen plenty of those in my day...I am a computer nerd myself, but have an athlete appearance. I grew up on DOS @ 5 yrs old typing commands away at a monochrome screen with a 8088 4 mhz pc. It's my experience that people that are illiterate and ignorant on computers feel stupid and like to make themselves feel better by classifying others who are actually intelligent by labeling them as nerds. It's happened my entire life when people like my jock friends came over and saw stuff like a slackware server in my closet in 9th grade. When I got older the comments didn't really come until I was around hot girls, I guess trying to dlv me to give them a better chance, but I just laughed it off and it never really hurt me. Remember...haters are going to hate and you have to be ready to blow it off. I agree with Hightower and culturedpearls...jus t ignore it. If you act like its a big deal, then it will be and that will show insecurity on your part and lower your value. I once heard Brian Tracy say that you can always tell how big a man is by size of the problems that bother him. Just laugh it off knowing what Bill Gates said is probably true “Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.” and chances are he will.

    Hey, I like that one!

The odds are big that most people won't get to read all of the alerts from their friends, what more the comments for each one. So just let it go. The girl, if she read it, might have even said, "Huh?" and proceeded to just not trouble herself about it. So should you.

I always encourage ignoring -mostly for you.

I remember that there was a time when I felt COMPELLED to "put them in their place."

It's a weird thing you can't seem to control.

The general rule of thumb is that if it's harder to not respond than to respond, emotionally, than that's an indication you should not respond.

It's usually the "nice guy" inside us that "doesn't want to be misunderstood."

It's the bad boy that doesn't give a Sh1t what others think, and is happy to let them catch up to us later.

Computer geeks haven't been asocial boys in a basement for decades. If a woman sees you are more social and fun then the jocks, she won't care what your hobbies are.

I've spoken to Instinct about Tom always attacking me and he tells me Tom here is probably trying to pick up my girls on facebook and is seeking attention rather than attacking me. Here's the break down of what went down so far:

Me (Status): Dear nerdy friends: I gots me a (name of computer case) case for boxing day. Temps went down by 17 degrees!!

Tom: OMG. You did not just post that!

    Tom's supporting bitch : ^ *likes*

Me: I said my NERDY friends! Stop trying to but in on our secret meetings! (Credits to Instinct)

Tom: loser. ahaha. just kiddings! kinda?

    ----------------------------------------------

I haven't made a response to him yet, but here's what I plan on responding with. Please give me suggestions and feedback to see if my response will shoot this pest off my back or not.

My planned response: Did you hear? Nerds are in trend right now. But thanks for trying Tom.

    What do you guys think?
I'm posting this just to show the attitude, this is an old thread. Whatever.

    Here's what I'd do.

Tom,that's a little thing called technology, capischi?
Now,if the world was full of pr1cks like you,hot water would not be invented and you'd still be washing your c0ck with cold water and it would keep getting smaller(dunno if it's possible to become smaller than its actual size,I guess). Now,get out of my profile and start checking out your other 'targets'.This is a free world,no one will judge you for being gay and checking men's profiles.

I would probably delete him and just move on. I've been AMOG'd a lot on my FB. I've found leaving guys hanging after they make a snide remark makes them feel stupid, and they will sometimes post more crap to goad you into it... then I ignore them more. Just post things that have nothing to do with what they said.

And you totally have to own yourself. Who cares if he thinks it's nerdy. I've been AMOG'd for politics, religion, my opinion's, everything. One time a guy I worked with mocked something politically related I posted, and a coworker (HB9) who ascribed to his very point of view told me she thought he was being a jerk, thought my replies, which she still disagreed with, were awesome, and wanted to hang out with me. We went to a bar on the company card and attempted to drink every drink on the menu. Drunkest I ever been in my life. When we woke up (I didn't have sex with her, even though I'm sure she wanted to - I was engaged to my ex at the time), we were still wasted, and she wanted to go to the Elvis Museum (this was in D.C.)... Lol.

If somebody is posting something that makes fun of you on your profile would it be better to reply with a single dismissive comment then ignore or just completely ignore from the start?

I'm not sure if saying nothing at all makes you look strong or submissive but I am leaning towards strong. Some opinions on this would be helpful.
