Hey guys, got an interesting topic I want to share.
So obviously we all know that your mood and emotions affects body language right? If you feel good and confident, your standing up right, shoulders back, etc. When you feel depressed or sad or tired, you hunch over, look down, etc.
But the reverse of this is also true, meaning your body language actually controls your mood! I know, it's like a life hack right?
There is much research into this (you can check out the TedTalks on the subject on youtube) that doing a power pose for two minutes will increase testosterone by up to 20% and decrease cortisol (the stress hormone) by 10%. Power poses include raising your arms in the air, the superman pose with your chest out and your fists on your hips, leaning back in a seat with your hands behind your head, basically really confident and open body language.
I'll also mention that faking a smile has the same effect on your brain as a real smile (it releases those good chemicals that put us in a good mood). So faking a smile for a few minutes will help your mood as well.
So my advice would be to do some power poses before you pickup girls, give a speech, or even when you wake up (I feel it helps boost my energy when I'm really sleepy). Anything that causes anxiety or nervousness.
