    Default Approach Anxiety Exercise

So, on campus today walking with a friend, I thought of a small way to approach girls. He and I are still very much afraid and aa is still an issue we have yet to defeat. But, we thought up of something so simple and so small that I think if we continue with it, eventually our AA will slowly start to vanish. We simply started high fiving practically any cute girl we saw. Some didn't high five us back and that's okay, but most did high five back; each time with a nervous smiley face. From their facial expression I saw that they're just as nervous, if not more, then we were. I think I can use that, knowing that they're more nervous of being approached. Well, we did it and I think it is slowly diminishing that AA. I always hear guys on here say that AA never really leaves and that it is something you just have to learn to live with. Well, hopefully this is a small technique that can help. Its simple. High Five. It slowly allows you to built the courage to approach strange women on the streets and it also lets you study their expressions, get to know a little of what they might be thinking.

Hope this helps. If you guys know of any other small ways that might be good for beginners then please share away.

I used to do this at the mall or some local festivals sometimes, definately helps but I could only do it when I was with my crazy friend. I think to truly help with aa though you gotta try it while alone

Great post. I've actually bumped into girls (gently) when I was too nervous to open when I got started. It's a good starter, but certainly not a crutch. Hope it helps!!

I tried it today just for the hacks of it. I don't have aa actually i have a lag of it, cu'z i just don't give a sh!t what people think of me. I'v done 40 approaches in the street saying i was playing a game with friends who could get the most high fives. I came in with a high playful energy where i got a shameful 3 high fives in total! What am i doing wrong? to much energy? or wrong line?

Aldo its a great way for people to come over there AA,
But make it a game with a friend who can get the most high fives!

hey man great way to deal with aa, i studied psychology in college and one of the things used to threat ilnesses like PTSD OCD, phobias, and even depression is taking babysteps, allowing yourself each time to experience a little more fear and nervousness. this is called 'exposure', you basically expose yourself to the situation you're not entirely confident with. Although this is great, i'd say mix it up; try different ways to Take Away the AA. I read in a new PUA book from a guy called Vince Slater (review coming soon once i've finished it) about a cool technique in which you first ask directions from a guy on the street, next a mother with her children, next ... until you have no problem asking directions from hot girls. anyways, there are tonnes of ways to deal with AA, most of which you can find online. good luck bro!

Other ways approaching to get over Approach Anxiety are just asking for directions or asking for the time. If you're on a college campus, you could even say that they look familiar, and ask if they went to some known event or party or if they were in your math class last semest etc.
