So, this is an easy, yet impressive, trick for getting her phone number:
This is probably not the best trick to open with, as you will want to build reputation and comfort so that she will be more inclined to give out her number.
Say: "Okay, one more trick. We're going to use three objects."
Pull an object out of your pocket and place it on the table. It can be anything (lighter, gum, receipt, etc) - NOT YOUR PHONE
Ask her and another person to also place an object of theirs on the table. (again, the objects don't really matter - so long as it's not the targets phone.)
You can also use an object that might be laying on the table (i.e. ashtray, coaster, glass).
You should now I have three objects on the table. Let's assume they are:
A pack of gum
Now say to the group: "Before we begin, I'm going to make a prediction."
Turn your attention to the target: "I'm going to text you my prediction."
Take out your phone and get her number.
Tell the target: "Okay, put your phone face down on the table. We will read the prediction in a little bit."
Text this to her:
"You're holding the gum. I'm holding the ashtray. They eye shadow is back in your purse. ;-)"
Now ... all you have to do is make your prediction come true. (it's easier than you think)
All three objects are still on the table. Tell the target to choose any 2 objects. Let's assume she chooses the gum and the eye shadow.
Now, you say:
"Okay, so you didn't choose the ashtray. I'll take that one." Pick up the ashtray.
"Choose one of your two objects."
Say she points to the eye shadow.
"Okay, put the eye shadow in your purse and that leaves you with the gum. Pick it up."
Now. Your prediction has come true. Tell her:
"Pick up your phone and hold it up so I can read the text message I sent you. Read the text aloud, let her verify it."
You have not only gotten her number, proved it's her number, but you have left an impression on the group - but more important - her. AND she has this text to remember the moment.
So, let's back up ... I know you're thinking "But, Maverick, what if she'd chosen different objects?"
It doesn't matter. You're using what's called a Magician's Force to make your prediction come true. That is, you are giving her the illusion of a free choice, when in reality, you are making all the decisions!
I'll give you a different scenario, so maybe you can see what's happening easier:
The ashtray, gum, and eye shadow are on the table. You have just texted her the prediction. Her phone is face down on the table. You tell her to point to two objects.
She thinks she's choosing what's happening ... but she's just pointing to two objects. That's it.
Let's say she had pointed to the gum and the ashtray. Now, remember the prediction said she is holding the gum and you are holding the ashtray. Those are the two objects she chose. Let's work with that. This time, you can say something like:
"Okay, we will work with those two objects then. You can put the eye shadow back in your purse."
Bingo! As per the prediction, the eye shadow is back in her purse. Now say something like:
"We're left with the ashtray and the gum. Touch one."
--If she touches the ashtray, say "Are you sure? You can change your mind if you'd like. Okay, then ... hand me the ashtray. And that leaves you with one object. The object YOU have narrowed it down to. Pick up the gum."
--If she touches the gum, say "Are you sure? You can change your mind if you'd like. Okay, then ... pick up the gum. That leaves me with the ashtray; hand me the ashtray."
There you have it! A few important tips to remember:
Always be vague with what you say and say things that give the illusion of free choice. SAY THINGS LIKE:
"Which one/two do you like?"
"Are you sure?"
"Do you want to change your mind?"
"This is the one you like?"
"This is the one you chose?"
DO NOT SAY THINGS LIKE:
"Which one do you want to hold?"
"Is this the one you want to keep?"
Remember, the more you are able to give her the illusion of free choice, the better the trick will be. So, at the end, say something like:
"Okay, so YOU are the one who chose the pack of gum, YOU are the one who gave me the ashtray and YOU are the one who put the ashtray in your purse. Am I right? There are many different ways this could have played out but this is the way YOU CHOSE it to happen ... and I knew that ... let's read that text message."
If you have questions, feel free to ask. And Good Luck!
