Default purpose of using an opener

What is the difference between an opener and a pick up line? They are both memorized material right?

What is an opener designed to accomplish?

Is it to get a woman to talk so that you can have more things to say back to her like for instance tease her on...etc?

Is an opener just a disarming way to start an approach so that it doesn't seem as weird?

I am not talking about openers like: Hey, whats up?

I am referring to memorized openers to use based on the situation.

The opener is just that. You make initial contact with a girl. Lines are cheesy but openers come in different varieties. I've found situational openers to work best. Girls HATE pickup lines.

While I agree with dave I have opened MANY girls with a good smile and a simple HI ...... and girls do HATE pickup lines unless you are actually making fun of pick up lines by using them as a joke, have had a lot of success asking girls if "Do you have a raisin ..... Then how about a date" is a goofy pick up line ... HA HA HA

    Dave,

I am a little confused about pick up lines because for instance with this one particular program which I am not sure if I can mention it here, it seems like they give tons of examples of things guys have already used to get good results with women.

    Its called c and f.

I have not tried out the c and f program yet because I am not sure if it teaches how to make up my own c and f, rather than just using what other guys have done.

That to me seems like lines, although its probably stuff most guys don't use on women so women won't think of it as a line.

Pickup lines are the cheesy things like:
"Did it hurt?... When you fell from Heaven did it hurt?"

Or "are you from Tennessee? Because you're the only 10 I see"...
    Etc...

The "opener" is just your initial introduction.
It really doesn't matter what you say...
It's more about body language & the particular vibe you're giving off.

Openers are ways to start an interaction or conversation.

Pick up lines have no practical purpose other than as jokes. Their name is deceptive given they aren't very effective for starting interactions, at least in the way you would want the interaction to go.
