Default Eye contact/smile from a girl passing by (College)

Hey guys, long time no see. Hope you're all doing well/

My Approach Anxiety is still needing work, but even though I'm dating I see no reason not to approach girls to conquer it. Everything past this is clearly a morality issue but having nothing to lose makes this a better deal for me.

So my dilemma, which is often discussed but I wanted a fresh opinion:

I often glance at women. I am an animal with eye contact. Once in a while I see a slight smile, but today I was in a full-blown eye lock with a cute girl and she initiated a smile as we quickly passed each other. I did nothing but hoping to add an approach next time since this situation is drilling my brain from failure to react.

Do women always ioi with a smile, or can smiles sometimes mean they are being polite? I think most women don't smile because of fear of attracting unwanted attention, so a smile definitely means they have forgotten this defense mechanism and pure emotion has taken over.

    Opinions? Thanks.

What you experienced was her way of saying "I'm attracted to you, talk to me". I've experienced this many times. Sometimes a woman will give you a slight smile and that can be her feeling nervous, being polite, or possibly showing interest.

When you lock into eye contact with a woman and she doesn't look away after a second she's into you big time. If she gives you a genuine smile she's inviting you to talk to her. I've had women lock eyes with me and never give up eye contact until I've walked up to them. I can't help but smile because an attractive woman is showing me interest and they always give you a big genuine smile in return. What you experienced is about as forward as a woman will be showing interest in a man.

Write "I did nothing" 1,000 times on the blackboard and beat yourself with a wet noodle .... do not let situations like that slip away !!!

Yea, I 100% agree with you. It's important to act fast. Next time this happens just say "hi" to her. Don't even think and deal with whatever comes after it. It's bigger risk to not take any risks that to take a risk.

Honestly though it can be a friendly smile. Sometimes she's interested, all you have to do next time is approach. You won't get over aa by just smiling at women when you walk past them.
You lose some you win some, learn from your mistakes and get better!

Most of the time a smile is an IOI but not always. There's a sure way to find out though. Approch and start a conversation.

If a girl smiles back at you when you initiate eye contact, that is a very good sign and a clear approach invitation. A lot of guys don't maintain eye contact and the fact that you did, shows confidence and builds attraction. You don't have to rely on approach invitations but it gives you a good starting point

Sometimes girls are smiling just to be polite, yes. But there is a difference in smiling just to be polite, or smiling because there is something behind this smile. If you pay a close attention you will notice the difference. Then you can make a next move....if you want
