Default What do you talk about for 20 minutes at a bar/club?

Much of the literature written says that it is necessary to have about 20 minutes of conversation with a girl at a bar or a club...

What on Earth do you talk about for that long?

I tend to get the pertinent facts after about 30 seconds, then it's just crickets....

the conversation usually just flows naturally if you're both comfortable. Think about it - when you're with an old friend, you don't think about what to say next and how to keep the conversation from dying out - it just doesn't. Same goes for meeting new people - actually listen to them and contribute to the conversation, without feeling the urge to change the topic. Let's say you ask for something as simple and stupid as.. "what do you like to do for fun" and she answers something along the lines of "going to the movies with my friends". Boom - here you go a few targets to aim at (what to talk about)
    1. friends
    2. what movies you like, have seen recently/would like to see
    3. what you like to do in your spare time
I like this a lot because it shows that you're genuinely interested about what the other person is saying, you RESPOND to what he's saying, you get details about the other person quite fast and you share common interests. I definitely recommend you trying this out in real life, don't change the conversation (don't ask another question) unless the person you're conversing with gives you nothing to work with (which will likely not happen as fast as you might imagine)

It just always seems to end up in pointless "Fluff" conversation... "What do you do for fun?" is actually one that I use regularly... but it all boils down to whether they are attracted to you or not... and this they might know even before you open your mouth....

I used to have a much worse problem with overthinking things than I do now.... but I have found that on the occasions when girls have opened me, I just use those lines the next time I am opening a girl.... they usually ask very simple things, like...

What do you do for fun?
    Where do you work?
Do you come here a lot?
    What is your name?

I have no problem getting those basic facts... but how to transition it to sexual without being a creep?

And also the fact that most girls are out there with other people that they already know and I am alone trying to introduce myself to new people....
