    Default AFC Adam Bootcamp Review

Well, I went to my first bootcamp, in Seattle, taught by AFC Adam (PUA BOOTCAMP). I didn't know what to expect, and I was definitely a little nervous when I was laying down a grand for the weekend bootcamp. My purpose for writing this review is two fold. First, I want to help other guys who are interested in getting Pick-up help. Secondly, I want to give Adam props for being such a great instructor. Here's a review of my experience:

First thing you need to know is that these guys are serious. If you think that you just want to go and get some more book knowledge and approach a couple sets, then don't waste your money. No matter what your skill level or sticking points, Adam and his fellow instructors will push you to get out there and get results. Unlike many in the Pick-up artist community, Adam really cares about his students. Sure, at the end of the day it is a business, but he is passionate about teaching normal guys how to pick up hot women.

Let me walk you through the bootcamp:

The first day we spent about four hours going over basic "hard skills". These were psycological, social compliance stuff which didn't really require any skill, but just remembering to use them, and use them in the right order. It is important to note that at no time in the bootcamp were we force fed canned routines, lines, or other such gimmicks. Furthermore, Adam had the amazing ability of being able to break down complex pick-up concepts into easy to apply, and remember ways. Adam kept it simple and straight forward the entire weekend. After the lectures and a break, we went out for 3 hours to use the techniques to try to get numbers. We got divided up among instructors and went to different clubs. Our objective was to open sets, build comfort, and then get numbers using the techniques we had been taught. There were very strict rules to help keep us on task. For instance, if we didn't pre-open the set and leave within 10 seconds, we had to try to get a number no matter how rude the girl was. This night was really tough for me because I didn't really click with the instructor who kept pushing me to take it to the next limit. Though I was very frustrated by the end of the evening, it was probably good for me, and I ended opening over 20 sets, several of them having 5+ girls in them. This was a new experience for me. In the past I have only opened small sets and I have always struggled with opening and transitions. I also found it extremely challenging to try to get number without starting to move into qualification and building attraction.

Day 2 we started talking about how to move from comfort to breaking rapport and then qualification. We also touched briefly on sexual escalation and logistics. One of Adam's sections on qualification was worth the $1000 alone. For lack of a better term, I'll call the technique qualifying-down (I don't know if Adam or one of his helpers used that term or not). When you qualify the girl, tell her what you like in someone, then give her a brief example of the quality, and finally ask her if she has ever done something like that. So far, that is a pretty standard qualification template. Now comes the part I'd never heard before. If you don't know this technique, you will find that you either have to build a lot more comfort or start with really small qualifiers, otherwise the girl will cheat out by saying something like "I don't know." Here's and standard qualifier example:

"I really like women who know what they want in life. For instance, I have a friend who decided that she wanted to travel across the US, so she got a bike and cycled all the way from Washington to Wisconsin. What's the craziest thing you've ever done?"

If she answers, that's great. You can congratulate her and kino escalate in the process. Most times she is going to draw a blank, try to wimp out, or give a really short answer. In this case you punish her, then lower the bar. You keep doing this until she finally opens up about herself. Once she does, you reward her with Kino Escalation and verbally:

    Her: I don't know. I'm pretty boring.

You: Come on! Don't be lame [punishment]. Haven't you ever found a hobby or something that really wanted to learn, and then really pushed yourself to get good at it? [lower bar]

This technique made it easy to start deep qualification almost instantly in the interaction, plus it made it very easy to find out unique things about the girl to relate to, thus driving further conversation and further comfort building.

After the lectures, we hit the club again. This time, we either had to pre-open and leave, or stay with the girls and take it as far as we could. We also were broken down into groups of two, to wing for each other. I got lucky because I was assigned to Adam as instructor for the night. Just like the previous instructor he rode my wing and I really hard to approach girls. If he saw us standing by ourselves for too long, he would come over, and point out a group and tell us to go open them. If we had any questions, he was more than happy to help us out, which I found to be absolutely invaluable. He also took covert pictures of us opening, and would then do play-by-play analysis of what we did well, and what we needed to work on. He didn't pull any punches on the critiques, but he was also very good about pointing out what we did well, and building us up. The night ended up really well, and I have written a field report/dissection here (http://www.puaforums.com/pick-up-fie....html#post9734).

Day three, we meet an outdoor market area. Adam immediately asked us how our previous night had ended (He encouraged us to stay and practice the previous night, after the practice period officially ended). He really seemed to care about our successes, and gave lots of helpful advice on where we could improve in the future. After a quick meeting and a couple basics on daygame, we went out for two hours to practice opening up women on the street. Once again the bar was raised. This time the instructors only came with us and gave us assistance if we directly asked for it. This was by far the most useful, and also the hardest part of the bootcamp. Following the daygame practice, we met up to go over Txting, Social Networking, Dealing with Road Blocks, and Day 2's.

One thing that especially impressed me about the course and Adam, was that he cared about what happens after the course. He made sure to give us several ways to stay in touch, and also gave us access to several cool extra features and tool which made the class worth much more than I paid for it (I not allowed to discuss those here, but trust me, it's worth it).

Over all this bootcamp was worth at least three times what I paid for it, to me. All of us who attended, came from different backgrounds, with different levels of skill, and different sticking points. The lectures were geared at making sure that even the absolute beginner would have enough information to start approaching women. However, unlike some bootcamps which I have heard about, the instructors were great about making sure that we got specific, targeted help out in the field. They were also more than happy to answer our questions during the lecture part of the course. When Adam claims to be the number one PUA in the US, he isn't joking. He knows his stuff, he knows how to teach it, and he isn't stuck up. I highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to get into pick-up.

If you have any specific questions about my experience with this course, please PM me. I won't get too into detail about the specific techniques that Adam taught, or the extra bonus stuff at the end, because I don't want to rob Adam of business he rightfully deserves.
