    Default Holding conversation

Hey guys, I'm pretty new to this whole thing, though I've been reading and watching stuff for about a year. I have a problem with approaching women, not because of aa so much as I feel like I'm bad at holding conversation and bringing up interesting topics. I'm in college so I have the basic questions to run through, but after that I get kind of lost.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

Its mostly something that you will just naturally get better at the more you do it but try these things:
Ask about recent movies they have seen then transition stories about scenes from the movies into crazy stories from your life.
Tell some stories, you're at college tell about that crazy party, or that rough test.
Ask them about plans (i.e. you guys know anything going on this wknd)
Comment on life in general (i.e. how cool is it to be away from home, doesn't it feel wierd to think how old we are, i love partying but work balances my life etc.)
Play games with them, try the ESP trick.
Tease them (oh this girls all work, mad boring or I feel like you're one of those really snooty type of girls) these have to be accomplished really playfully though.
Make hypothetical future plans (I really wanna get champagne one night, how cool would a moonwalk be at college, when i'm really rich I wanna get a roller coaster in my house etc. whatever)
The standard questions (major, dorm, hometown etc). Remember the standard questions can be fun too as long as you talk about them in an excited and interested way.

    Hope that helps a little,
    Fiery

I've coined that "Conversation Anxiety" masking itself as "Approach Anxiety"...

I think fiery is on the right line here. Especially when you are first starting out having some canned stories, or games will help push the interaction along. You will find that as you do this more and more that you will not need those canned bits cause you be able to do it one your own.

Make sure when she is talking that you listen to her. A lot of times she will set up a new conversational thread. Bill calls this Learn Affirm and Confirm.

One last thing. Stay away from the regular questions: where you from, what do you do, what do you study. She hears those all the time, so be different. If you are going to ask questions make sure that it’s a question no one else will ask. Ask her something like what’s the most adventurous thing you have done recently. This is always a good way to set up a neg too but that’s besides the point here. Then when she answers have a story of your own to follow up with.

It helps alot too when you start a convo and the ball starts rolling to take on what she is saying and ask her how she feels about them. Girls love talking , and talking about themselves , so from a basic question you can have her feeling emotions through slowly transforming the convo the way she directs it to you.
If you get her emotionally expressing herself through your convo .. Mate your there,
Too many guys stick to the basics an jump from basic to basic without delving that little deeper and getting her responding on another level. When you do she will remember you and gaurenteed she will be the one calling or txting you back.
The pros can prob elaborate some more on this but I find it has phenomenal success and nearly every girl that you chat with will think they have made a connection with you

Hellboy78, that is a VERY good point. I'm serious. I'm pretty new to this too, but I've found that gettin a woman emotionally charged by the convo, your body language, and the topics you bring up, are very useful in makin her interested in you. In fact, this is one of the things I'm workin on. It's been kind of a shot in the dark every time I've tried, so if you or anybody else has any more ideas on what kind of topics to bring up that will get her emotionally involved, that would be great.

    Thanks -Toothpick

    I like this thread.

I've learned that conversation is a two way street. I struggle with the same issue, conversation, and learned that if I'm 'ok, what to say next" "How do I continue the conversation" then I'm not feeling it, she's not feeling it, she may not even like me but just be talking to be polite giving short answers. I once had a conversation with a girl about a pink elephant names smithy that lived in kansas with it's sister who cheated on her boyfriend elephant sam... it was odd.
