Default One Way To Deal With Social Shyness

One way to deal with social shyness is to meet people in the medium of something you are very good at.

    What I mean is this.

If you are a great musician, you should try to meet new friends in those circles.
If you are an avid reader, you should join a local book club.

    so on...

When you meet people in a medium of something you are great at, it will help you feel more comfortable and open up for new friendships with more ease.

Yeah, further it will make an positive impression of you on them. It may be a good way to leave the shyness. Since when they talk about their field of expertise they will be less interested in expressing their shyness.

Starting out with people you have something in common with is always best. You can always add common experiences as time goes on.

This is great advice. You always feel more comfortable and confident when you are doing something that you are good at or doing something that you enjoy.

Also this is good because you know the person you are interested in- enjoys the same types of activities. A great starting point.
