She's OFF or I am??

It's probably both. Overnight stocker Day 1: I asked how she got started. I mentioned a "friend" who's indi-paki like her that needs help. She said her mom works there plus she's in school. I said good because she's too pretty to stay there. I got a thank you. Day 2: I asked for shopping advice. She laughed when I said something looks gay. Both times I pushed the conversation. I notice she seems awkward like she shat her pants. So I cut it short. I've yet to see her socialize. But it got to me so much that I returned an hour later to see what was the deal. lol Yeah I know..I asked if she was having a good day and left saying to smile more, it's okay to appreciate niceness..arggh I screwed up there. But, wasn't I facing an uphill battle to begin with (culture; insecure)??

Thanks for NOT helping. lol I did some recovery after this. I showed up/shopped last night. I brusher her off, gave the mom attention (which may be an indirect way). Then I met a hotter black girl around the corner who warmed up instantly. I'll go for the Number Close before the week's up.

I second jellymint; I'm lost as to the question in the original post. I've dated an indi-paki girl before and could help with the cultural facet, but I don't really see a question there.

The cultural thing was no big deal when I dated this girl, let's call her Shoes. She acted as any other girl I knew in college. Dealing with her parents, though, was rough. They wanted to marry her off and didn't like her dating a white boy. Also, the language barrier and accent in dealing with her family was rough. But do-able, since I really liked this girl and eventually f'd it up. Any more questions, just let me know or PM 'em.

The question is in the title. I wasn't sure if the problem was my approach or the fact that she's guarded. I mean a simple hi was hard to read. lol Part of me then said to not bother. There's threads where people open with, "Smile. Life's not that bad". So I tried that as recovery.

At last check, the mom seems to like me. So maybe I can work through her..?? She told me she wants her daughter to open up to people. I threw in that she's very pretty and seems like she's a great girl. So I'll see.
