Smile Being invisible in an awkward moment

Have you been in an awkward or shameful situation, where in you feel want to be invisible and just forget what happened? Here is my unforgettable experience...Let me share it with you.

I was in a bar, hanging out with friends..Enjoying each other's company while unwinding-of course, to spot a new chick to hook up with. We were chatting with my friends when a girl caught my attention. She was beautiful and oozing with sex appeal. I break out from my group and went to the girl's table(she has no company). Had a few drinks which made me much more confident that I used to be.. I gave an opening by saying " nice song, huh?" then she smiled and looked away.It seemed that she wants to ignore me.. But still, I gave it a shot by saying "can I buy you a drink?".. Then suddenly, a man suddenly said "excuse me!" I was really surprised. The guy said,"She's with me dude! back off!" The guy was her boyfriend(WTF!!). That time, I felt all eyes are looking at me. I was really embarrassed and went back to my pals. How can I avoid this situation? What should I do to avoid such to happen again?

Drink less. And make sure the girl is really alone next time. It won't hurt to ask her outright because then you can offer to keep her company if she is. Or find out indirectly... Use some line like, "I simply cannot let a girl like you drink alone" so she can immediately tell you if she is or not.

Some tips for in the future:

Don't ever offer to buy a girl a drink. It will rarely ever get you anywhere, except poorer, and any woman worth having is immediately going to think you are either a loser, or at least that you are hitting on her.

Try to make your openers a little less cliche. There is nothing wrong with your question except that it is a very common AFC opening, so you want to side-step those.

Now think how that scene would have gone if it hadn't been obvious that you were hitting on her immediately. You go up, start the conversation and get her involved. Her boyfriend shows up, and feels a little threatened (unless he is a douche, he won't be too pushy because you aren't actively hitting on his girl, and she is having fun). If he gets pushy, you laugh him off, and tell the girl it was nice talking to her. If he isn't too bad, make friends and keep talking. Not a bad ending either way.

You get points for sharing your story and for having the balls to approach her to begin with. I suggest you spend some time on this forum, and continue to practice and you will be picking up women in no time.

Hey guns I think you are correct, but can you give us some examples of openings that don't make us look like AFC?

Yesterday I was in a club with 3 friends and we were talking standing at a side of the dance floor. Then I see this girl and she seems to be dancing alone. She comes towards meand keeps walking then she came back to the dance floor. she did this 3 times and was always passing me. I wanted to ask her if she wanted to dance but i din't know if she was alone or really looking for someone she came with. then I steped outside. a few minutes later she came outside too and sat on one of the tables in front of me. she was alone =/..I wanted to go talk to her, but I needed a good Opener that didn't make me look like a AFC.

It was really a "sh1t" situation out there bro. Anyway, it happened and you can never changed it. However, you can avoid such situations in the future.

Yeah sounds like she was proximity opening you a little.

As far the not AFC stuff, this whole forum is devoted to proper opening techniques and stuff. Examples are of very little use because they differ with the scenario. The techniques are what you need to learn.

Things like:
Don't ever offer to buy a woman anything to gain her affection, or do any nice deed that requires you to go out of your way.

Don't compliment the woman on her physical appearance.

Don't choose the most obvious thing to ask her about, or if you do, put a unique spin on it. If you don't she will have already heard it, know you are hitting on her, and spit out a programmed response.
