Grocery Store Girl

There's this gorgeous girl who works at a local grocery store who I'd like to get to know. The only time I have a chance to interact with her is in the check out line. I want to know if anyone has ever had any success in this kind of a situation, and if so, how they did it. I've already developed a good rapport with her, through smiling and making her laugh, but I don't know how to progress it further with the short time span that this kind of situation entails. Do I try a Direct Approach, maybe asking, "What does it take to get your number?" Or something more subtle? Thanks in advance.

We'll, I understand what you're saying bro. I've been in that situation. It's good that you had developed a rapport with her and she responds to your gestures. Why not try to ask her out?Like "Hey, I can see that you're a hardworking person? Is there a time you go out and unwind?"

Sounds like a good approach. I'll adjust it to fit my style and try it out.

You could always buy a lobster and fish food, tell her its going to be your new pet. (I wouldnt actually do this, but I know someone who did, it worked, kinda)

Best strategy for me is to try to Number Close. The only exception is when you both happen to just be hanging out, and there is something near by that makes it easy to insta-date. To number close, just either Start A Conversation or use a current conversation and come up with some reason why you might want to get a hold of her. It might be because you know this really great X that you are planning to go to next week and you want to invite her, or you might want to call her for X advice sometime. I find it always works better if you can qualify her while asking for the number. It can be as simple as, "You seem like a cool person, what's your number so I can call you in case..." Once you have her number, wait for a bit, and then start text game on her.
