"Pls. call me back"

Hi guys,

A few days ago, I met this girl from a friend's birthday bash. Actually, she is a friend of my girlfriend's friend. We were introduced to each other and had a really good conversation. We then exchanged numbers and I was hoping to hook up with her after our first meeting. I called her a day after the party. She did not respond to my calls I was wondering why. I waited for 2 days and yet, there was no return call. What should I do? Do I have to be persistent in calling her or just wait?Until when?

I personally will only call/text a girl twice and if she doesn't answer I will either

A) go get a new number
B) call a different girl for the night

Just make sure if you text her you don't come across as being needy. If she doesn't answer then maybe you did something wrong at the party....anybody else?

Don't be too needy on her as if you badly needed her response. Maybe she is just not into you bro(no offense) or maybe she just hooked up with someone else. One or two calls with no response would be enough. You can hang out with other girls and they may be interested in you.You'll never now unless you try.

Try to get calm. Don't be too fidgety in calling her. If she does not respond to your calls then go hang out with other girls. Don't just focus in one girl.

By girlfriend, did you mean you're going steady with a girl already? Because if so, then that must be it. She must have asked her friend if she knows you and was given the information that you're supposedly off the market.

Oh and as confident calling a new girl may seem, I don't think it's the way to go unless you're 101% sure you made an impression. I'd have texted instead because at least you could have informed her who you are, maybe even reminded her of something that happened between you two. You might have called at a bad time which already made her decide to put you on ignore.

I always have and somewhat still struggle with what appropriate persistence is. I have friends, "naturals" that often call a girl many times, 5 or 10 times or whatever if she's hot and/or seems really cool but busy or aloof. One in particular called his 'current wife' almost 10 times over 2-3 months before he even got to talk to her but she was ready to go at that point and clearly it worked out. I think there is some value in persistence.

texting is a more noncommittal way though, for her to respond to help get you going. Calling you back may be a big deal if you haven't already built much attraction & she's nervous or flaky or whatever.

Posted elsewhere here about a girl I strictly texted late at night once in a while. We texted a couple hundred times one night and she was asking me when we're gonna hang out. We're trying to figure out when & where to meet up but w/the holidays among other things it's gonna have to wait a week or 2.

If the the girl is not responding to your calls, I think she is not interested in you. Maybe the time you met she felt a click but after that it's gone. Don't fret my friend, there are lots of girls who are willing to hang out with you.

Of course there is value in persistence. But I think those looking to pick up would do better not dwelling on one girl alone. Plus, what happened to your friend may just be one of those "meant to be" stuff. It's the exception, not the rule.

I had an experience before of waking up to 80 friggin' missed calls from a guy. I didn't find that persistent, I found it sick. So eventhough he turned out real yummy, he reeked of desperation from the start.

One or two calls should be enough to gauge if the girl is even open to getting to know you, or letting herself be known.

My friend called about once a week for 2 months, never repeatedly. Definitely never more than 1 missed call at a time, ever. Anyway, I had seen him do this, to a lesser extent plenty of times before that so I don't buy giving up after 2 calls. This girl in particular was very good looking and also quite conservative overall and I think had a major "filter" up to root out the players & weaklings. All 3 of which were reasons he liked her in particular.
