Default girlfriends and puppies

I bought my girlfriend of over a year a puppy a while back. We broke up and both agreed to steer clear of each others friends, and both agreed to be civil to one another. A few days later I found out she slept with one of my good friends, and when I "nicely" asked to talk about it, she said "I am farking stupid and she will not talk about it because she did nothing wrong." This is where I had to put her in her place. The dog is legally in my name and has been staying with me for the last 6 months. Am I justified in keeping the dog? While it was a gift, the disrespect she showed and lack of remorse, along with the fact that she ruined a great friendship that I had, make me feel like since she made her bed, she should sleep in it. Plus I really like the dog myself! Or perhaps I should charge her what I paid to get it back?

id say you get the custody of the puppy and she gets it on alternate weekends.

how good a friend is the bloke she bagged? if you and he can't put her in the corner where your friendship is concerned, that is if she has taken a mate off you...... the puppy is yours.

i would rather have a pet dog than a dog of a mate or a dog of a girlfriend. they get each other, you get a friend who gets the whole 'loyalty' thing. you win mate

plus that dog and a story behind it could be a chick magnet or a good prop. hell, the dog might even be a pretty cool wingman

i have some objection to using animals as something that symbolises the relationship. it can be a very chumpish thing to land on her as a means of trapping her or making sure that you both share something living et al.... i have moral and ethical objections.

i wanted a cat some time ago so i got one. what is between me and the cat is between me and the cat and i have not involved anyone else.

good on this bloke for wanting the puppy though cos that is quite different to what i am saying.

some people just don't think when they give gifts of any sort. chicks know what we are saying with our gifts better than many blokes do

Keep the puppy if you want it. They are good props.

Being a pet lover and an animal rights activist, I would veto ever giving a puppy or any pet as a surprise. Pets need to be wanted and planned for.
