I bought my girlfriend of over a year a puppy a while back. We broke up and both agreed to steer clear of each others friends, and both agreed to be civil to one another. A few days later I found out she slept with one of my good friends, and when I "nicely" asked to talk about it, she said "I am farking stupid and she will not talk about it because she did nothing wrong." This is where I had to put her in her place. The dog is legally in my name and has been staying with me for the last 6 months. Am I justified in keeping the dog? While it was a gift, the disrespect she showed and lack of remorse, along with the fact that she ruined a great friendship that I had, make me feel like since she made her bed, she should sleep in it. Plus I really like the dog myself! Or perhaps I should charge her what I paid to get it back? Last edited by mz1050; 02-11-2010 at 10:17 AM.

how good a friend is the bloke she bagged? if you and he can't put her in the corner where your friendship is concerned, that is if she has taken a mate off you...... the puppy is yours.

i have some objection to using animals as something that symbolises the relationship. it can be a very chumpish thing to land on her as a means of trapping her or making sure that you both share something living et al.... i have moral and ethical objections.
