mutual friend sticky situation

so im going out on a date on wednesday, and i met the girl on a dating website. so we talked on facebook rather than on the site because she deleted her account and it turns out we have some mutual friends. she went to high school with a really close friend of mine and she is also really good friends with my ex girlfriends best friend. not really sure how i can avoid the sticky situation. if she asks her than a lot of biased reviews of me will come out. my guess on what to do is just do everything naturally as if that factor doesnt exist and if she asks her about me, ive set such a good impression that she wont believe her. if she asks me about how i know her than i just answer the questioned head on, and change subject as fast as possible. am i on the right track here?
