What happened tonight was unreal. It was one of those things that you walk away from going "did that really just happen?!" This was without a doubt the fastest kiss close I've ever done. Here's how it went down.
I was out with a couple of friends from work. I'm working as an intern over the summer and we're all staying together. So we all decided to go into downtown and get some food. After starting a dare with my friends that if I didn't talk to anyone they pointed out (if I failed to approach they all got $5) and watching a good friend of mine miss an opportunity with an HB8, I was psyched to talk to some girls. So as we come out of the restaurant I hear some music and see a crowd forming outside this bar. Naturally I head over to take a look, but my friends stay behind on the corner. I walk up behind this 2 set, a 7 and an 8. The 7 turns around and actually opens me up.
HB7: You like tango?
Me: I've always admired the foreign flair, but I don't know the dance all that well.
HB7: Well that's a shame. Are you from around here.
Me: Kind of. I moved out here for work.
Now the 8 chimes in. It's odd, but I can tell both girls are already interested in me, especially the 7.
HB8: What kind of work do you do?
Me: I'm working as an intern over the summer.
HB7: That's very cool. What's your major?
And the conversation goes on like that, just some light banter. Now while this is going on I find out these 2 are part of a bigger set, a guy and girl dancing in the street. So I cheer them on, warming them up to me and joking with the guy. This goes on with me charming the group but the 7 and 8 in particular for the next minute or two. Then the song starts winding down and the guy flips the girl in his arms as a finale. The 7 mentions that she'd love to get flipped like that and I offer to give it a try. She smiles and walks over to me, taking my hands right as the next song starts. It's a swing dance song, which is something I can actually do. We start dancing, I'm teaching her some new moves and she's teaching me. I spin her out, then back in, wrapping my arms around her waist as she leans back. I look her in the eyes and hold her there for a second or two before sending her back out. From that point on she starts inching in closer and closer to my body. But now I'm starting to get worried. My friends haven't said anything for a while which would mean that they've left. And if so, I need to go find them. So we dance for maybe another minute and I tell her I have to go. We look each other in the eyes for a few times but I still don't feel like she's interested enough for a k-close, so I bend down and give her a peck on the forehead. This gets a small clap from the other people who used to be listening to the band, but had turned to watch us dance. I grabbed my shopping bag and gave a few hi-5's to spectators. Obviously my social proof was pretty damn high. I walk back over to her, tell her thanks and that I had a great time. She just nods. I lean in a little bit and she leans in too. I give her the triangle look and go in for the kiss. It's not long, but it got a small cheer. She blushed and I said "see you later" and walked up the hill to find my friends.
