    Question Study choice

Ok guys, I really need your help.

I would really like to go to college. I’ve a couple of conscious reasons for it. Money is no problem. I live namely in the Netherlands. Tuition fee is 1500 euro.

My problem is the subject of the study. I don’t know what to study.

    I'm stuck between 3 options.
    •Business studies
•STEM study (Econometric, (computer) science, mathematics, physics etc.)
•The option to learn my passion (self-development/actualization/help, psychology, NLP etc.) and make my job/fastlane out of it.

    Shoot!

    Hi Dutchman1,

    A wise man once said:

'Find a job that you love and you will never work a day in your life!'

So, my suggestion would be...what do you enjoy or love to do?

Answer that and then try to find a job/career that you are passionite about and that you love to do. Not only will you enjoy it but you will also help the people you interact with, because of your job/career, in a more positive manner!

So from your post it appears to suggest the third option???

    Hope this helps. Best wishes.

After getting my degree in business management with a focus in human resources. Then struggling to land a solid job, partially due to graduating in a recession and partially my fault.

My advice would be look up jobs you'd have an interest in. Then look into what majors/degrees they require. Network in school and do internships in the summers. A finance degree will not necessarily give you a better chance of getting a job in finance/investment banking over a math degree with quant focus. Key to college and life is about your experiences that you can offer that will allow a company to profit from you as an asset. People are the greatest asset. Then you have to be good at marketing these experiences.

I don't even recommend people going to college unless they pursue a degree in a very specific professional field, just due to the opportunity cost. I do recommend college to party and make great friends, and to mature.
