I'm new here but If I can put in my two cents. Im 25 and I have pretty much completely stopped drinking. The only time I drink is when I'm with old friends and if I drink its maybe like 3 beers tops. This hasn't affected the way people perceive me at all. If anything its an advantage, you are the sober guy, you can drive a car, sharper wittier, also I like to joke around and do stupid stuff when I'm out at the bars, when people realize I'm not even drinking they are instantly drawn to me. Explaining why you don't drink is an easy in to a conversation too. Its good to still act curious about alcohol though. Guys will try to get you to drink, but girls even more, and they will use their looks to try to see if they can be the one to "change" your mind. Ask to try a girls drink if it looks colorful and expensive follow it with a funny face and "Woa,I think I'm gonna stick with my water tonight hahaha!" It shows that you have got nothing to prove with your drinking and it sets you apart from the bro's doing kegstands etc.

It is so funny that this came up. A group of us students has formed in Hollywood and we are out in full force a few times a week. We drink water only. The booze slows us down and since we are all still early in our education we need all the mental power to not get eaten alive. Also if you are not drinking and your target is, that is just a little bit more mental advantage.

If you think about how many times you need to be going out to improve your game it can get really expensive. We always tip the bartender for the water and usually get great service for it. Total for the night is usually under $15 to $20.

A few things you can do if you feel it is an issue, ask for a lemon, nothing looks more tough then clear liquor. Or just get a soda, no one will know there is no booze in it.

Think of the drink as a training wheel that you want to get rid of. The AFC's are the ones with the beer in front of their chest. One of the easiest ways to spot a chump. You DHV by not being part of the pack.

I have always shown up to parties with chocolate milk (1 quart of it to be exact). People used to give me sh*t, and when they did I'd just reply, "Wait, you don't like chocolate milk?" And they thought I was the freak. Who the f*ck doesn't like chocolate milk?!?l I have two houses that keep a quart of chocolate milk on stock, specifically for me. I never asked them to, they just text me one day saying they bought me chocolate milk. So I walk in, open their fridge, and grab my milk.

If you're worried it will hurt your social proof, BE the social proof. I'm high value and have a lot to offer at parties, just like you. If there's some chick there I don't know, everybody's like, "Cody, run the cube, run the cube!!!!!" Once you're on top, you call the shots. Chocolate milk becomes cool and alcohol is lame. I've had people come up to me and say, "I freaking love chocolate milk! Why don't I drink it at parties?" To which I reply, "Because you're a p*ssy." Then smile, and they laugh, even though I was only half joking. :P
This dude has Alpha Male written all over him, and he's right.

You drinking simply because others expect you to is not Alpha Male at all. It's about respecting yourself as well as enjoying yourself also.

Not at all true. Best times I've had have been sober.
If i get a guy some a$$, he gets it for a day; if i teach him how to get it for himself, he's tappin forever

i really dont know what fun there is when you aren't sober..

you just laugh at stupid jokes which aren't even funny, make fun of yourself and people laugh AT you, you look sh1t, 0.1% chance of getting a girl, and hungover the next day.. <-- your night if you drink? [WOW That's really an awesome night...]

on the other hand, i walk into a club, get skyrocketing socialproof immediately, get just 1 drink, approach a set, get rid of all the set to my friends, get the girl alone, makeout, get her number, BYE!.. Repeat, skipping the drink part :P <-- my night

in my opinion, second one looks more amazing.. but thats just me ;P..
The Worst thing I can be is the same as everybody else. I'd Hate that!

Most people I know drink because they hate their lives. They're bored, and the sad thing is once you start drinking for entertainment, nothing else seems as fun.
Wondering where I am now? Check out my latest project:

I go on this forum on occasion for fun and I got a membership just to say this guy knows what he's talking about.

I used to be in OP's spot. I'm a competitive powerlifter and I don't like drinking. I felt it was a handicap for years... then, I just started looking at people who drank as a lowered value. I also feel my routines are MUCH better being sober, completely separating myself from every other guy with a beer in his hand.

Changing my mindset on who has more value for being sober completely changed the entire social paradigm in my group.

Plus, even if it does lose you a girl or 2... would you really want to have sex with a drunk sloot?? lol

i love cody's post about the chocalate milk, i'm going to have to try that one sometime

i have to say that drinking can easily become a dlv if you don't control yourself. when i go to parties and get hammered i usualy just make an a$$ out of myself and rarely get girls when i'm drunk. but if i stay sober and possibly drink one beer the hole night, then my game will be much better. also a smooth trick i learned from a friend about how to still look cool without actualy drinking is to take an empty beer can and fill it with water. bring it with you to the partie and just carry it around and sip from it like its a beer. no one will know the difference and you can just fill it back up at the sink every time you go to the bathroom. no one will question the fact that you are drinking as long as you don't let anyone sip from your "beer can"
