Default Leaving a bar if you're not in state

The title hopefully says it all but....

I was basically "forced" by my roommates to go out to the bars...I was in a great mood all day but I just wanted to take a night off...needless to say my roommates (who rarely go out mind you) convinced me to go out. I drank a little bit but was just in a "decent" mood all night.

I did manage to open up 3 sets tonight with an opinion opener about karaoke but I just felt out of place....so....I left, without telling anyone. My mindset was, "I don't wanna look depressed/out of state in front of sets I may/probably will open in the future"

I'm usually good at picking up my mood during the day or while pregaming but I just had no motivation to sarge tn so I took myself out of the situation b4 making it worse!

Was this a smart move or was there something I should have done differently?

    Thanks guys!!!!!!!!

Well if you did not feel like being there and wanted a low key relaxing night there is no problems with leaving. May be even better so you dont get discourages if your sarges go poorly because your body language, mind and actions are not on a parallel.

Just think, you dont want ice cream every night .. so you don't eat it when you dont. Same thing with going out and drinking.

Do what is going to make you happy bro.

Like Achilies said, your true feelings will be portrayed subconciously through your body language (assuming you're not an actor and have profound control over it).

Body language and verbal cues not lining up = incongruence = turn off.

I'm repeating myself, but do what's going to make you happy.

well if its ok with you, its fine but just remember, if you just leave without telling anybody, people would have noticed that and i think its DLV or being socially inept?

i've seen this happen sometimes with my friend.. and i see people in club (i know not bar), staring at him like he was some kind of freak.. because they saw him entering with us and leaving out storming out alone..

plus remember to tell your friends 'i left because i wasn't in the mood' or something.. or else they might think you don't like being with them and its offensive to them (don't really know what type of friends yo have though.. some won't care others are sensitive so just guessing here)

I agree. I've spent the last day or two cooped up in my dorm b/c I just don't feel like sarging. I know I'll be back in the food court soon - trouble is it is a bit of a DLV for anybody who texts me and I don't hang out, but it's whatevs... It'd be more DLV to go out not in-state.
