Default Would you guys date a coworker?

Hey guys, I have a problem here. I hope some of the respected contributors will comment here,

I have a really cute coworker who flirts with me all the time. And the fact of the matter is, I have been too cautious to ask her out. Simply because in my last job I nearly got fired because my boss wanted me and when I didn't return her advances, she complained and nearly had me fired.

I come to this job and now my admin assistant flirts with me. My fellow coworkers bug me and say I should ask her out. But the problem is, I already have, twice. Both times, she just said she was busy. My friends say that I didn't ask her out right and they think that I haven't shown her enough interest.

Now the Christmas party is in a week and I wasn't planning on going. And when my admin assistant asked if I was going, (she is in charge of reservations) I said no. All she said was "lame"

I feel so torn, because I don't want to put my career on the line for some relationship, that may or may not work out. The feelings were so strong at one point, but now they have seemed to fade a bit.

What do you guys think? Should I go out with her? She is super involved in my business that she processes all my payroll stuff and helps me get paid. My heart says "yea she is cute" but my head says "Don't"

    Help!

My general advice would be not to shit where you eat, I don't date colleagues as a general rule as I like to separate my work life from my personal life.

I'm assuming you are in a senior position as well, this creates a further problem.

I would suggest you move onto another girl. Its all about risk vs reward, unless you're pretty sure there is something there then don't bother with it.

    Just my opinion

Yea, all my friends tell me that I farked it up, and I had plenty of opportunity to take her on a date. My senior managers tease me and say that she wants to go out with me. I really like her, but unless its a hundred percent it would work out long term, which I cant say it will, then to me its a no.

    Anyone else? Please!

Well nothing is ever 100% but what IOI's do get, does she flirt with you a lot? All I'm really hearing is you asked her out twice and she said no, which to me seems fairly open and shut

She just bugs me a lot, teases me. Comments about my ass. She also compliments me lots, with lots of eye contact. Asks if I am single. Makes comments that she could love me.

    Stuff like that.

And asking her out twice? Well I have asked out woman twice before and been shut down both times and they end up chasing me. So to me that doesn't necessarily end it. But in this case I think it should.

It seems to me like you are flirting your way into the friendzone.... I would suggest that you either try to escalate and make something of it or drop it completely.

Have you got her number, you know in a non-work related capacity? Do you interact at all in a not work related capacity?

I don't think I have flirted my way into the friend zone, but who knows? I didn't want to go out with her anyways.

As far as her number? No I don't have it and no we have never hung outside of work.

I get the sense that I have the perfect opportunity to escalate at the Christmas party on the first. Lol and from talking to her this week, I kind of got the idea, she wanted that too.

    I will keep you posted.

Im not a fan of dating coworkers.

It sucks because i work with a ton of girls... all decent to very good looking. Her pride may have been hurt by u not asking and now she is trying to get u mad. Women in that position are VERY cruel.

If she is like this now, think of how she will be if u date her and have a bad breakup. Yikes!

Its funny because if u challenge her tests, she will prob become more attracted lol. Always remember that you are her boss (if i understood corrctly) so dont be afraid to put her in her place... as in tell her privately in your office that she is acting unprofessional. That way u keep respect in the office.
