Default Is it me or does this sound familiar? (This isn't directly about pick up)

Pointless passage really but I think its quite interesting. I was online doing research for my social science course about public relations and I saw a lot of the attributes are the same as for pick up. Check it out. If you altered it slightly it could totally work.

    Be intelligent communicators

It’s not enough to have the nerve to start a conversation(.) or do a media-pitch(n approach) by phone, email,(in person) or Twitter. In PR(PU), you have to lead the conversation to achieve the best results. PR(PU) demands intelligent communication and an innovative and exciting approach. This will ensure you become a trusted advisor(guy thats going to bang her) who provides great value to your client(target) or company(targets, maybe in a million years).

    Be stress resistant

A PR(PU) professional is often a middleman (or woman). Whether you’re in-house or agency(in field), you have to deal with various parties: CEOs,(AMOGs) stakeholders(rich farkers), editors(cock blockers), journalists(nosey buggers), suppliers(can I buy you a drink bitch hustlers), etc.

Being in the middle creates the dilemma of how to make everybody happy at the same time while achieving your PR(PU) goals. This is exceptionally hard—sometimes impossible.

However, dealing with the demands and challenges of clients(sets) and journalists(targets) is part and parcel of the PR(PU) profession and you need to accept this. Keep strict control over your emotions. A clear mind provides the only chance to move forward and not become bogged down in a stressful deadlock(actually think that sums up the feeling quite well).

    Be organized

Deadline is the most frequently used word in public relations, and sticking to the deadlines is one of the major tasks for a PR(PU) pro. To make this happen, you must be organized. More than that, you must organize everybody involved to make the interview happen, manage the event, or execute the campaign. For this, planning is the key. It helps to ensure you have everything under control and allows space to manoeuvre. True, you can’t predict everything, but being organized will certainly help you deal with the unexpected. (to much to change)

    Be energized

If you have enough energy and motivation, you’ll feel comfortable and happy in the PR(PU) industry(approach). Even in the business-to-business(public) sector, you still can have loads of fun and find creative ways of doing your job properly. Generating new ideas, hooks and angles will be necessary the whole way through your PR(PU) career, so stay on your feet and don’t stop coming up with alternative ideas.

May have gone a bit wayward at points, but I think the point stands 1 love

believe it or not you can apply PU to any relationship that you have, work, family, friends, women, haggling (lol $9 extra off my phone bill a month) etc this is definitely one of those things where you're developing yourself personally for work, where us guys here mainly use it to attract women it still can be applied to certain areas,
eg if you have the confidence to approach a super hot chick, you can sure as hell make alot of friends at work or be the middleman like these guys want

i have to agree with hyp, pua works in all areas of your life, anytime you have to deal with other people you can find yourself using pua, because pua is basically the study of interpersonal communication.

That's awesome! If I can learn PU and become more powerful in the workplace also, well that's just double incentive

Even the most notorious PU theories are nothing new, they're just renamed. I'm sure if the scientific community cared enough or took us seriously enough in want to sue they would be more than right. Tyler Durden's Law of State Transference? What we call frame control? Try the Communication Acomodation Theory.

You guys are awesome. The amount of eureka moments I have had since learning about pick up is ridiculous. It makes me feel like I was clueless about society before, in a good way. It has given me the drive to start an access to university course when I thought I was getting too old at 22 (dumb right)and has changed the way I think and react to situations in a positive way. My way with women is progressing slowly, but my life is progressing quickly, it has given me my confidence back and by the time im in uni next year I guarantee ill fell like I have the world at my feet. A positive outlook was all it took. Sounds cheesy but pick really is changing my life.
