So the title says most of it. My wife and I have been separated for a few months, and there is little if no hope there. So I'm going to enjoy being single again, and she can go fark herself.
BACKSTORY (skip if you want):
I used to be roommates with a guy that was constantly being scouted by advertising companies for brands like abercrombie and hollister before I met my soon to be ex-wife. As such I have a bunch of old HB8-10s in my phone and on FB. How should I go about getting back in touch? I really don't like the FB message approach, and it's been too long to just text them up (I feel) plus they all know I am (/was) married.
Specifically there was a girl my roomie was dating back in the day. We all used to go skiing and camping and stuff together 5 years ago, but I haven't talked to her since. She lives nowhere near me, but she'd probably travel to meet up for snowboarding or something. I've got a month to game her before the real snow season hits full swing. We're FB friends, and I might have her old number around in my old phone (her current is on FB, not sure if its the same from back then...).
I'm thinking FB message:
Hey, blast from the past here! A buddy of mine and I were talking about going snowboarding, and it reminded me of you. Just wanted to catch up for the last 4ish years: "Merry Christmas, Happy Birthday, Merry Christmas, Happy Birthday, Merry Christmas, Happy Birthday, Merry Christmas, Happy Birthday!"
Oh, and I was disappointed I didn't see you in the Olympics a few months ago!
(she was a hopeful, so that last part might be neg'ing her too hard, too soon...)
Then if she responds at all get her number and throw some texting game for a couple weeks before asking her to come with us on the 2nd or 3rd trip maybe.
Thoughts? Should I just text? Shorten it? What about the 10 or so others? How should I let them all know I'm back on the market without being overly obvious about it? How should I respond when they _ask_? Emotionally I'm a rock, so most of my social reactions are off :/
