Default Asked me out then flaked - How to avoid this

We've all dealt with flaking before, and it's infuriating. I'm sure you guys don't like having your time wasted in any capacity.

Last night I had my least favorite kind of flaking done to me - The kind where SHE asks ME to do something, then as we're making plans she gets slower and slower with texting, until she just drops off. In my case last night an HB8 was inviting me out bar-hopping with her female friend.

My last text was asking which place we'd be meeting up at. I waited about 30 minutes and then texted back "Yes or no?" Finally after another half hour I just texted a non-sequitor - "Potato chip?". I didn't want to seem too needy, but at the same time I was all ready to go out and it just put a damper on my entire night (I had banged this girl before a few months back. She lives outside my city and will only be here till the weekend).

Is there anything you can do to curb this sh1tty thing? I've had girls ask me out before then disappear when it came to planning, or not show up at all, and I'd like to prevent it from happening again.

EDIT: She just texted me - "Forgot my phone in my room last night. I suck " Might be true, might be an excuse. I'll evaluate how to proceed from here.

    stop texting.

for a first date, pick up the phone and call. if she commits through voice, then it will reduce the flake-rate by over half.

texting is fun, and a damn good escalator... however when it comes to the first date, i'd always call.

This is true. It's good for flirting, but things can get wishy-washy when it comes to making solid plans. She got back to me, so if I do decide to talk to her, I'll try and get HER to call ME.
