Why the HELL would Hollywood blow up our spot like that?!? It's one thing to have it be a $30 book, but a fucking movie?!? out of ALL the fucking books ever written, they had to adapt THIS ONE!

I actually don't mind the idea. What are your objections to it? Please share.

Yeah, I mean seriously half of the stuff in the book is outdated, and I know a load of guys who read the book and watch me pick up girls and haven't even made the connection between the two. Make up some new routines and you won't have a problem.

For money. On another note, is there any news about this actually becoming a movie? Seriously, this subforum was created like a year ago. Haven't heard anything about it since.

Please tell me we aren't having this conversation again.

Who gives a damn. It happened almost 30 years ago. Besides, when you see a movie, even when it does say "based on a true story" do you walk out of there thinking, "oh wow that's totally applicable to my life in some way shape or form. I'm going to apply this information to how I live my life on a daily basis". fark no. Are hikers going to be suspicious of every goddamn rock just because they saw 127 hours? Of course not. The same way girls aren't going to be suspicious (or at least any more suspicious) of guys in bars just cause they see a movie about how pickup got started.

And as for the argument "oh, but if they use all our lines and openers and stuff then we won't have anything left blah blah blah blah blah." If you're still using the same lines Mystery was using back in ye olden days, you've got bigger problems.

Case closed. No mas. End of story. PLEASE let this die already. We've got too many zombie threads that need to drop dead but just don't. Don't add this to the list.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming “WOW...What a Ride!”

To be fair, if they do make this into a movie, they need to do it like Hitch; because i'm using shit from that movie and women have almost no idea.

You know, I was just reading an article on this. In there, the author tried to argue that because of the fact the Game had been published, pick-up was dead. Women could now recognize that men were hitting on them, Mystery's show had blown the cover on everything, and techniques were mainstream. Due to the fact that anyone that I have revealed about my pick-up to has no idea what I'm talking about, this is safe to assume as rubbish.

In my opinion, pick-up has not died. It has evolved. What may have worked years ago no longer does. It makes sense from reading about all of these guys on the forums who were great with women, left the country or did something, came back a year or two latter, and all of a sudden discovered that they were no longer successful with women. They didn't get rusty, their techniques simply got outdated. Society advances and changes so quickly that if you fall behind, you're basically screwed.

The Game has done much for the community. It spurred a rapid influx of people into the community. Although I do see many people come and go quickly, there are a few who do stay. As time goes on, these few eventually begin to express creativity, break the rules, and revolutionize how we think about approaching women. Because we had an influx of these creative minds into the pick-up community, our ability to learn and expand has increased significantly.

Pick-up is alive and well though, no doubt about it. The times have changed, and what worked for Styles and Mystery back then don't have much affect now. If they did make a movie, I doubt it will do anything to make us look bad. If anything, it will create even more interest into the art.
