I was in the same position as you a few months ago. I believed that in a town like mine, there was nothing to do, no one to go out and meet. You quickly discover that when you get around town and figure out about all of the events that go on in the city, you couldn't be more wrong.
It's just a matter of getting outside of your box to see what there is. As these guys said, if you can't find anything to do in your hometown, hop in the car and go somewhere else. If you aren't able to do that, work on your text game. I've actually been doing a lot of reading this summer, and I can say it keeps my mind well occupied.
Your problem is entirely mental. You're letting the drought get to your head and screw up your conscious. It's a matter of overcoming this desire through meantime occupation.
