I just came across the game and just started reading just got threw openers and ready to try some of what I learned. Anyways I was sitting in the bar and saw a girl . I was ready to pounce on under the 3 second rule then didn't.thought I just started reading not sure what to do after openers any advice for a non shy newbie ready to jump in to the deep end that doesn't know how to swim and left his floaties at home? Should I finish the book first or just say what the hell and learn as I go?

Don't worry my man, being nervous is natural for those just starting up in the game. It's a whole new field, and you're forcing yourself to do things that you normally wouldn't do. It's pretty scary for anyone, and screw-ups can make you think negatively, but just remember that it's all a part of the learning process. I can say that going into the eighth month of the game there are still things that I'm working on and trying to improve. It's all about the concept of practice makes perfect.

I would definitely say it's a good idea to learn as you go along because it allows what you just read and learned to sink in. However, since you are starting up with The Game, I should warn you on what to avoid. Because you are a rookie, DO NOT try negs. If used incorrectly, negs can be hurtful and very detrimental. You would be way better off with just flirting with her. Flirting is fun, it's almost never harmful, and a lot of people like it (I avoid generalizations like "everybody" because we have to be mindful of those damn norm-breakers ).

On a last note, don't worry about that three second rule. I can say that I don't strictly follow it. It's more so there to force you into the mindset of "I need to approach her as soon as possible". Doing so builds confidence and it makes you more likely to approach someone on the fly. Eventually, it just gets to the point where you can approach her whenever you want because you understand the mechanics of the game and you just don't care about winning her over in the end.

Thanks for the advice i started off online today I figured it would be a good way to use some differnt openers and see where it gets me. I am sure online is alot harder then in person however I have used some of the lines ive seen on these boards and am surprised by the results. I am keeping track and will post my first field report once a collect more results.

    Thanks again

You'd be surprised actually. When I was a nerdy little fat nothing in High School, I had numerous cyberspace encounters and relationships purely because you lose your sense of self when you're on that interspace. Couldn't ever get a girl in real life but online I was almost a pimp.

Even now I find it significantly easier to charm online friends than I do in real life because when you're behind a screen nothing can hurt you, so you cut loose and just be yourself.

Good start with the online stuff. I can say that in the first four months of pickup, all of my practice occurred on Facebook. That's why my Facebook and text game is mega solid, because I invested thousands of hours of effort into that.

My only warning is not to get completely hooked on it. You should try to add in gaming in person. That takes a lot of effort too, but once you can get down up to the number close, you pretty much become invincible if you have online game down. I am now to the point where the number close is possible for myself, and once I do it nothing can stop me after that.

As for recommended readings, there's so many things that you could do. Tell me, what would you have to say is your weakest area at the moment?

As Swagman said, FB and texting game is much easier, and I believe it is a good way to get into it. Also, being cocky funny is a great way to flirt, especially when you are shy and do nto want to neg just yet, since they can backfire if not used appropriately.

The game isn't really meant to be a how to manual. It's more of a novel. If you're trying to apply this stuff books like "The Mystery Method" will explain the concepts in detail and give you a roadmap and a book like "Rules Of the Game" will give you a step by step approach complete with detailed exercises/challenges to complete.

By doing this you build comfort without saying a dam word!
