Last week I met this really cute girl in one of my classes. I kept the conversation brief but if the 5 or so minutes that I talked to her, I did introduce myself, and I did flirt with her a little bit. Even though she came off as being somewhat shy, she seemed to respond well to me talking to her. She was asking questions too, she gave me her name after I gave mine, she had a huge smile (showing teeth) when I did a bit of flirting, and she was okay with shaking my hand.
This week she sits in the chair right in front of me, but it seemed like as she approached the seat she looked everywhere in the room except for at me. She looked to my left, she looked to my right, she looked behind and down, but never behind and at me.
If she's avoiding eye contact because she doesn't want to talk then that's okay. But if she wanted to avoid a conversation, why would she sit right in front of me? There's plenty of other seats. It just struck me as a little odd.
I didn't take it personally or anything. During the break I talked to my classmate to my left, so no biggie.
But have any of you experienced something similar? Or can shed some light on the situation?
