Default Talking in a low tone but loud?

    Hi,
I usually talk in a high-ish pitch (often because when I was young I noticed people listened/paid attention to me better if the pitch was high, or even annoying)

I've been trying to lower my pitch but I find it very often that it's hard to be loud in a lower tone. It sort of hurts my vocals chords. And also, when I talk in a lower pitch people (even strangers) tend to ask me "say again?" which happens often, meaning usually that I'm not loud enough.

So any tips on talking in a low-pitch, but loud, so people can hear and understand you, but at the same time not destroying your vocal chords? (it just feels like you need to put out more air when it's lower)

For you it sounds like low tone and loud won't be the right choice. I suggest you try going low and low. Low tone and slow and clam when you talk. If people don't hear you it'll make them come closer to do it. Look up some vocal warm ups and exercises for voice tonality online to help you out. Being high pitch won't always work out so well.

There's a book out there called The Fine Art of Erotic Talk. It gives you some vocal advice... and gives you a few other ideas that might come in handy as well...
