Default When negs go a little bit too far

What do you do when you negged a hb, and she feels genuinely insulted?

    My thoughts around the issue:
    1. Pretend as you said nothing wrong (e.g. if she says "stop with that attidue", replying with "what attitude?"
    2. Give a non-sincere apology (e.g. I'm sorry that you feel that way, I thought you had a sense of self-irony")
    3. Ignore her, and move on.

    Any thoughts around the issue?

If she feels genuinely insulted, then you didn't have a good behavior. I'd go with humor. Always go with humor.

"I didn't know you couldn't handle it, but just to prove that I'm not as bitchy as Rihanna is, I'll let you buy me a drink... "

Or something like that. Just do not be self-conscious about what you said and start apologizing for 3 hours. And humor always saves any situation.

Agreed, if she felt genuinely insulted or degraded, you may have been a bit too harsh or not congruent with the funny vibe you meant to give off. Try and play it off with humor but I would stay away from apologizing directly.

What actually transpired, what was said. Without knowing what was sad, we cannot tell if she is acting like it's insulting to put distance between you and her, or that she might just be too sensitive, or you might be too cruel, who knows. But it's difficult to give advice if we don't understand WTFIU.
