It seems to me that many, if not most men, are to one degree or another confused by women. Either they don't get it or give the women too much power. Even someone such as Dr. Phil, in my opinion has said things that suggest he doesn't quite get it. For example I heard him say something about using the "yes dear" thing to avoid conflicts with women. However, is avoiding a conflict really a good thing. Too many guys will humor women and fall prey to women's sneaky little traps(for lack of a better term). They will say things like "no, your butt doesn't look fat" and otherwise agree with everything they say in order to avoid a conflict. However, is this a good thing? As men should we always respond to a woman's questioning with "yes, dear" in order to avoid an argument or keep her happy? That may or may not work anyway and instead of keeping the peace it may make her think you have no back bone. So, anyway, what do you guys think of the whole "yes, dear" thing? Am I overthinking it or is it sometimes good to say Yes, dear in order to avoid some perceived conflict. "Whatever, you say" to me sounds less compliant and might be a better alternative but even that seems like you are backing down somewhat.
