    Default Help: how being funny

    So guys,

I'm reading a lot of some good stuff of the PUA's here, especially the latest text of mr assertive and Tyrone. You guys are 2 examples of people who are fun to talk fit. Flirty and fun.
I'm curious how did you became so fun in having a conversation and i Mean the funny responses and pulling the girls out of their comfort zone with some texts.

I have a easy and smooth talk, but I lack of funny responses if you know what i mean.
So how can I solve this? I have tried some new things and tried to find some stuff on this forum but in the end, I won't work.

Well you didn't have to do a public service announcement. A private message would have done just fine lol.

I have to admit though. I didn't get to that point overnight. It took me awhile to get it so don't be discouraged. I worked hard for my shit, and now its second nature to me. One tip I will gladly share is be in the presence of those you wish to emulate. You see how they behave, how they deliver jokes, how they interpret the world. Then you start to see how it works and create your own persona. Tyrone and I have some similar qualities but he works differently in some ways. You have to find your own sweet spot and what works for you. I am naturally cocky funny. It comes natural to me.

The next step is to watch the news, listen to music, what is trending right now in the world. What are references that people use the most.

Things you will need to be funny.

    1. Confidence---- I have told or have made comments that aren't that funny. You have to be prepared to shrug off those moments. Can't be funny all the time. I recommend not taking yourself seriously.

    2. Body language--- your body can be used in a way that will make things funny. Facial expressions, the use of hands.

    3. Understand your audience-- are you in the presence of a certain clique. The more you know about the world and people the easier it is to come up with quick remarks.

    4. Practice------ My roommate and I engage in banter all day long. Find someone to flex your skills with. It can be anyone. At work, I even banter with a little girl about 10 years old. Surprisingly, she has some jokes on her. Kids are great to banter with, they haven't learned social conditioning and they say anything. I love it. It can be anyone.

    5. Don't be a try hard. You can feel when you are trying to hard. If that is the case, just relax, who cares. Just let the chips fall where they may.

Don't take her seriously. As in, whenever she asks you something serious, answer in the opposite way.
Example: is that chocolate too sweet?
You: why, you're afraid you gotta go to the dentist if you eat some, honey?

Not only your reply counts, but your follow up, as in, looking to her eyes and not breaking the eye contact.

Often times, people find you funny not because what you said is hilarious, but because they like you, so they laugh. Not only because of that, but also if they see some guys in the group laughing, they become socially obliged to laugh too.

You've gotta find out what your style is first.

Different people have different types of humour. Some like puns. Some love sarcasm. There will be those who appreciates dark humour. Yours will be the one that comes out naturally.

You just have to identify it. And then after that, it's just a matter of looking for opportunities to practise and make it a habit whenever you talk to people (not just women).

I was reading a thing about humor. High Status Humor was the buzzword, I think. One of the comparisons they made was the difference in humor between Vince Vaughn and Rob Schnieder. Both funny, but one does well with women, the other not. So, for starters, watch some Vince Vaughn movies. Another thing to look at is Observational Comedy. That is what Vince Vaughn uses. Jerry Seinfeld as well. Another example of bad, for PUA, comedy is Jim Carey. He was with Jenny McCarthy. He was great with her son, who is autistic. She appreciated that. But he clearly was not making HER laugh, as she dumped him. He does clown humor. People laugh AT him. With observational humor, you laugh together at something. Being a clown can get some attention, but it is more likely to put you in the friend zone.
