So I met this girl on the street months ago while walking my dog. We talked for a while, exchanged info and text a little but I froze out since I had a girlfriend at the time. Months later I posted the picture of her, her friend and my dog on facebook... thought to find her on facebook... tagged her and we started messaging back and forth. We seemed to have a ton in common, she was always attentive to posts etc.
Our first date was postponed first because she "simply wasn't up to it that day" but was honest so I figured... ok and froze out but she stayed with it on facebook so I knew she didn't intentionally flake. The new year came with my birthday right around the corner. She randomly asks me out on a Friday (before my bday) and I say I can't cause I have plans which is true. We reschedule for Tuesday of the following week but I get a text from her THAT NIGHT real late like "are you up?". Now she's coming on strong... back and forth text... all is good... she mentions coming to my bday the NEXT day at the club in NYC.
I'm there with all girls and she shows up... no hesitation... sits next to me... (looks great by the way) and even has a birthday card. At this point I'm like "okay she's pulling all the stops". I wasn't sure if I was going to like her since I hadn't seen her since we first met but I was definitely into her. After the hanging out died down with everyone... her and I went to her bar of choice (I'm thinking she's isolating me... this girl is moving fast).
It's here where I think things took a turn for the worst. She was bombarding me with sh1t tests and I just played it cool.. but I think I played it too cool and she thought I was a pushover. Perhaps my birthday mindstate kept me in receiving mode and I just laid back and observed.
Even though we each took separate cabs home... we text the whole way home and the night ended well... so it seemed. Next day she took forever to respond to my initial text... I mirrored her time and responded back with a close ended text and didn't get a response. At this point I'm wondering if our date originally scheduled for Tuesday is still on. The next day she has a picture on her facebook showing her in a nice dress from THAT NIGHT (the night after we hung out) and leaving a message that sounds like "she had a blast". Following that she cancels our date because of bad weather (the weather was really bad in all fairness) and says "she'll be in touch for sure" still adding smileys etc.
I'll wait it out... but I thought this story was perfect to get feedback on in the event she freezes out too long... how to re-establish frame? What to say. For someone coming on that strong... I felt like at some point I missed the boat which is unusual. I'd like to recover since I can already see my own faults and probably let the fact it was my bday and everyone was catering to me put me in a lethargic state game-wise.
