Default The truth about being in shape

Today there are literally hundreds of diet programs we see and hear on the tv and radio. If there was a diet program that worked don't you think everyone would be taking it? Just like if there was a pill that could add 4inches to your d1ck, than every guy in the world would be on that pill. Fact-in a country where obesity infects 60% of the population, we don't want to here that it's going to take constant dieting and daily exercise to stay in shape. We want to cheat, and buy the lies that we can get skinny and stay in shape if we invest in a 80dollar tv diet DVD. Did you know that Alaska has the highest rate of ice-cream eating in America. A food that you would think most popular in a hot clement is being pigged down in our coldest state, just to show how messed up we are when it comes to taking care of our bodies.

As an ex U.S. Army Ranger with sh1ts for metabolism I was exercising three times a day to maintain my six-pack, cardio, and build. Once in the morning with my unit, weight lifting during lunch, and rock-climbing/swimming or some other sport exercise after work.

People think that exercises and dieting takes daily discipline and motivation, when in truth it becomes addictive after a period of time. For example during Ranger School every student would have something that became known as a "suck factor." Hell week was part of the Ranger course (a whole week of training with only 3 hours sleep total for the whole week) so most students' suck factor was sleep. We all were burning more calories than they cadre was feeding us, so some students suck factor was food. Believe or not some guys would start crying, because they couldn't hit the gym every day, like they could back at their units, and that was their suck factor. At the end of ranger school I had lost 30lbs of muscle and what seemed like all of my body fat, which is impossible, I have yet to miss a day of going to the gym since. If I miss a day of going to the gym I feel grumpy, tired, stressed out, and ashamed of myself. So keep in mind that diet and exercise sucks at first, but as it comes part of your routine, you won't be able to live without it.

Gym Tips: visit the gym between the hours of 1:00- 3:00 in the afternoon, studies show its when body is at its waking peak in the day at that time, so at that time you are the most energetic and can perform your workout to its greatest potential than at any other time doing the day. Work out a muscle group no more twice a week, to prevent muscle tear/breakdown. so if one day you do chest and triceps, than next day do biceps and back, the following day do shoulders and abs, 4th day do legs or whatever and then repeat the process, this gives your muscles, that you worked out that day 3 days to recover and now you can work them out again.
will ad more tips, plz comment

What do u want us to comment?
1.00-3.00 to visit the gym? - visit it whenever u have time!
Work out a muscle group no more than twice a week to prevent muscle tear/breakdown????? - lol man u r breaking down your muscles every time u go to the gym, it is why u go to the gym lol
And if u are doing that program that u mentioned and supposedly u r recovered and u can work again-NO, u need FULL 7 DAY RECOVER PERIOD! But, it depends on your diet and other things.
This looks awful, sry lol U can post your nutrition plan or workout plan and I will comment on it and help u, np

BTW, if u do 1.chest+triceps 2.back+biceps 3.shoulders+abs 4.legs and than REPEAT OMG u will get into catabolism 110%!!! Unless u r on anabolic steroids and have mega uber nutrition hehe

Ok. First off dude, I see where you’re coming from, but you are highly exaggerating. "Go to the gym whenever you can?" No sh1t, but if you have the option of going to the gym at lunch rather than after work, when you are more tired and can’t get the most out of a hour of workout, than you could at lunch...do so, that’s all I'm saying. It's not just me by the way, ask anyone who’s into bodybuilding and they will agree with me.
Come on dude really a whole week to recover? Maybe if it’s a muscle group you haven’t worked out in a while or if you food intake contains no protein or if you take 0 supplements whatsoever. You need 2-3 days of an anabolic state to repair muscles, unless you're on a diet with no sugar and your body needs to break down muscles to access your stored sugar/carbohydrates.
I’m not trying to be mean dude and I appreciate your insight, but other than your comment on how your recovery depends on your diet, I have to disagree on nearly everything you say. No one goes into a catabolism state from working out a specific muscle group twice a week or working out every day, unless they are just starting out and go for complete muscle failure.

Yes really a whole week to recover. And u must have few days off. So u r really saying that is good to workout and tear muscles 7 days a week and have 0 recovery off days?
Good luck (u forgot that u stress your central nervous system alot when u workout and cns needs longer time to recover)
That workout plan is not for mortals, is an overkill.

I agree with NightW0lf here. Pinkpill, you are used to this kind of training and it works for you, but not for us.

For example, I used to work out every group muscle in one session in 3-4 sets of 35-40 each set. I'd start with some running, then go for biceps, triceps, deltoids, abs, buttocks ( yeah, I did that, lol ), thighs and legs. And recovery days were like 4-5 at first, but with time it got down to 2-3 days at most.

And I only went to the gym to keep me in good shape and have a great muscle tone overall, not for muscle building ( six packs, bla bla ).

When I couldn't go to the gym, I did sit-ups, push-ups and squats at home.

It's what works best for you. This is what really matters. There isn't a one-size-fits-all sets of exercises that work...at least I haven't found out about it.
