I am in South Korea, and yesterday was a holiday. I met this girl online and we had been texting for a few days. We set up a date... So, me and this girl I'm interested in go on a day trip (1st bad idea?) for our first date to a place near the sea. We meet and take the subway there. Things are going well and we're chatting a lot. Well, we miss our transfer and go way out of our way. So, I spring for a taxi. We get out there. Then we walk around Chinatown. Then we go near the sea and walk, talk, have dinner, etc. Everything seems to be going well. We return home and today I text her telling her I had a good time, etc. Then I ask if she wants to go to a baseball game next week. Anyways she can't because her family is coming into town.
So tonight we talk and she tells me that I'm a great guy, but that we had no chemistry. She said that the first date is for finding out if we like each other, but that I was talking about future plans too much.
Now that I look back on it during the date I did talk about doing some other things together the next week. And like an idiot when she mentioned she had vacation time around mine I mentioned that we could go somewhere. I completely pushed things too fast because I liked her. That's not typical me, but over here it seems that girls like guys to be sweeter. I think I may resort back to my old slightly cocky American style as I never had a girl tell me back in the States that we didn't have chemistry.
Anyways, is there any possible way to recover from this? I told her that I think the date was too long for a first date and that's why it was uncomfortable for her. She told me that it would be too uncomfortable for her to meet again on a second date. Is there any way to recover this at all? Maybe wait some time and contact her in the future?
