What's the best thing to text message a girl you just met?

What should I say to a girl I just met and number closed, and how long should I wait to text her?

I like to text a girl with an hour of meeting her and say something that show your attraction, but isn't cheesy or trying to be too clever.

Sometimes something as simple as "It was great meeting you. -Bill" works great. Other times, being more flirty and direct works great. Texts such as - "Hey sexy - let's grab a drink next week"

What do you guys find works for you?

Whenever possible, I like to text within a couple hours of the getting the number and try to either make a joke about something that we talked about in the past, or recall a previously made joke or story. I don't chat for very long, and then I tell them that we should do X sometime in the next couple days or so. Then I don't text them for a couple of days. When I text them again, I try to get the next meeting set up, or failing that, build some attraction.

In the past two weeks I've number closed on three different girls, and each one I texted within a few hours doing the exact things. Not only has this NOT worked well at all, but I've been reprimanded by some of the female friends, saying I need to wait at least a day.

However, my own personal views still say that I should just start a text rapport pretty quick, before attraction fades. But that's my own opinion.

Maybe girls in Vegas are different, but after experimenting, it looks like waiting a day or two is the way to go. As for what to say, either send funny jokes/questions that will start a flirting convo, or send a "I'm going to this place at this time. You should come" texts.

I think it depends on what you text to them. I don't really try to be serious in my first, fairly soon after text. I just make a quick joke, or a short, "Hey this is me, just making sure I got your number right", type txt. I don't want to wait a very long time because they will forget me. I want them to have some expectation that I will be contacting them in the next several days so that there is a curiosity factor of when I will be texting them, and what I will be wanting to do.

maybe it will also help if you remind her who you were... so text instead

"It was great meeting you. -Bill, the Potterhead"

or add humor in it

"It was great meeting you. -Bill, the guy who looks like Jacob Black when you squint"

I never text, but my bro always starts a routine and then ends it in the text, like the c vs u shapes smiles, or something about her palm read, whatever.

What I love about text messaging is that you can be very creative. You still have a moment to think it over before sending the message the person(whether it is right or not). I've also experienced flirting with girls through text. It is fun.

If you've had a lengthy conversation... maybe you could actually send her a nice or funny quote and just say at the end that said quote reminded you of her and you're looking forward to seing her again. Or just say something that refers to something you talked about. Even just a simple "Desiderata says to go placidly amidst the noise and the haste... here's hoping last night relaxed you enough to do just that and face another week of the crappy boss. ~ Solomon "

Girls like it when they get proof that they were heard. Just keep it nice and light, short and sweet, otherwise you might creep her out.

Think of something that may interest her and ask her what she knows about it.

Example:
Text, "hey, do you like carnivals? you know, those with rickety rides and all the cotton candy you can want.?"

If she says yes, and there is somewhere you can bring her, then good. Even the kiddie rides will give you both an excuse to touch each other. If there's no carnival nearby, just pursue the conversation through text or when you do meet, and talk about being in one as a kid... or the new rides they've come up with that you can't wait to try out.

If she says no, then you can say you don't like it either... or how can she not consider clowns and freaks as cute? how can she not consider almost barfing an awesome feeling? If she's got a good head, then she'll think you're funny, and not weird.

One thing:

Women use phones to talk to people. Texting is the same way. Men use them as tools. You want to use your texts to set up your next date, but you don't want to be too obvious about that. You need to make it appear as if you just like talking to them, and as an after thought you want to hang out and do X.

Simple I think to start. I'm actually ok with texting a lot now since recently i had a 1 year text ONLY 'relationship' with a random girl I met at a random place. We texted like 150 or more times the 1st night, I tried to get her over that night but that was a stretch she worked really late & wasn't a retard who would do that after talking for 10 secs @ work. Did similar every couple months (+ or - on the volume of texts) for a year completely at random and just recently did it again w/pics & everything. I think we're just gonna F*** as soon as we meet. Maybe not but her nicknames always involve "sex" something or "tiger" this so who f'in knows that was fun & I'll probably do again

Being creative and interesting in texting her would enhance attraction. If you had developed an attraction from her, feed it more by sending out messages. Being cheesy would be fine. I met a girl and texted her an hour later. She responded to my messages and invite her out. It worked.

I recently met a group of people at a bar and went back with them to party at someone's house. I number closed a girl there but could tell my night wasn't gonna end in the sack. I texted her the next day and said

Me: Hey it's Kenny. It was good meeting you last night, had a lot of fun. U goin out again soon?

Her: Yeah prob this weekend

Me: Okay I'll call you this weekend then. Save my number

I found out she has a boyfriend and am now playing the "it's cool if we're just friends" thing and she's texting me all day everyday. Keeping them short and sweet will get you in my friend

A friend of mine keeps things simple by texting and giving the girl a multiple choice sort of question. It goes something like... "hello, this is Pete's calendar texting. If you're free for drinks Friday night, text (back) 1; if you want to talk on the phone instead tonight, text 2 and the convenient time to call; if you're busy this week, text 3 and when he could say hello again; not replying in the next 3 hours would mean you want him to lose your number. Have a good day. "


This way, he says, he need not wait indefinitely for a response. Plus, girls usually reply... they even add their own choices. Cool, huh?

I love the concept - but I think the question are a 'bit' needy.

I would prefer:

1. Meet for a quick drink tues night.
2. Watch the football game with me at xyz on Sunday.
3. Help me pick out some jeans at Diesel thurs.
