Going too far negging?

When the conversation lightens up, she asks what kind of job I do, and me and my buddy claim to be clowns. Or garbage men. Or whatever, but we're not telling. This continued annoying her even more, but still she wouldn't leave.

Anyway, when they do leave for home after some chatting, woman #1 actually comes back from outside, to tell us she REALLY dislikes us playing this 'game', and that we basically 'ruined a good conversation with her friend'.

So I'll end with a couple of open questions:

What went wrong here?
Did actually anything go wrong? Or did we just hit an uptight woman?

This is just basic gaming, the neg has a purpose, it isn't to lower her value, its to raise the value of your rewards. Make sense?
