Default Groups for meeting people?

Are there any groups on facebook for meeting people in your area? Not specifically dating but just making new friends etc.? Im constantly moving around the world so I need things like this to meet new people, quickly build up a small social circle and of course get my end away. Do people do this on FB or another similar place?

I checked it out, seems interesting but maybe the groups are all a little too specific. Any there arent too many in the countries I usually travel. Its a shame facebook is so great at keeping old friends in touch but doesnt do anything in the way of meeting new people. Has anyone ever tried randomly messaging people from similar groups they are members off? does that work at all?

yes, I have groups on facebook for meet new people.My hobby is make a new friend. So not specifically dating but jus t making new friends.I like facebook.
