Well, I was just trying to practice being cocky & funny online. This is a thread from a facebook wall conversation. My objective was not to attract the girl, but to practice C&F so that it comes naturally, look forward to your inputs:

Her: (she posted on my wall) I found the perfect girl for you.
Me: Does she really exist or is it a pigment of your imagination?
Her: she does exist! in fact she's already a part of your life!
Me: I told you before girl, you don't meet the standards as of today :P - try again later
Her: honey if it were me, u wudn't even feature around the list !
Me: awwwww did I hurt saturn child's fragile ego there? (saturn child is a nick name i gave her)
Her: suggestive asinine questions does boost your ever-desperate-for-inflation ego, doesn't it?
Me: oooohhhhh was that a comeback?
Me: don't tell me you are hooking me up with your sister :O
Her: I don't have a sister..and if you meant xxx... why would I even consider such a notion? I like her too much to put her through such immense misery in life..
if u want to know who..u know what to do
Me: xxx is your sis? Didn't know that.
I was referring to your soul sister - the chick with the extremelylongsurname , because I remember talking to you about her.
P.S: My motto in life with women I date is to make sure I leave them be...tter than they were when I chose them. Unfortunately you would never know how that feels (was this a good enough comeback coz I feel she was trying to lower my value here and I should have done some dhv spike, what you think?)

BUT

a few things you might want to ALWAYS keep in mind.
1) I am NOT interested in you.
2) I am not hooking up any of my sisters or brothers or bronx hoe's with u..

we then took it offline as she was trying to pull a fast one by recommending a total dumbass girl who is psychotic.

I laughed this off as a joke, I told her finally you managed to pull a good one on me, good for you, congrats. But, again I feel by associating me with this dumbass boring chick, she was reducing my value.

Now, its sort of an egoistic thing for me to make this girl chase me, ideas anyone?

AWFUL ! You just came off as cocky. And a jerk. It's cocky and funny. No funny in what you wrote.

You basically THREW AWAY pre-selection. She recommended YOU to another girl ( who could've possibly be hot ). You should have waited to see her, THEN launch into cocky and FUNNY.

She quite possibly had another girl in mind. But since you came off as cocky, she decided to have some fun with this.

The only good thing here is your reply to her "ever-desperate-for-inflation ego" post. That showed her that you didn't get phased by her comment.

At first, I was going to say that it's not egotistic, it's useless. But then, I saw guys recover from much worse situations than this, so it's worth a shot. Have a more "friendly" or "warm" approach next time and less cocky ( less is more ). Then mix it up carefully from here on.

Ha. you would not recover from a situation like this. Cocky/Funny is not about showing contempt for women, it's about showing higher value through entertainment and alpha indifference to the power of the p*ssy.

IMO, you went wrong with:

You demonstrated to us that you're a F\/CKwad; who knows if she wasn't already trying drill you to the matt, prior to your speaking of a single word. Basically, you failed be being AFFECTED by her hostility, and feeling like you had to demoralize and berate her.

I feel dirty just giving you advice, but we're all trying to learn here man. Next time, just walk away. Or as sitfab suggests, throw some funny in there. Act like you actually care what she's saying. If she's toying with you, THEN, toy with her back. THEN is when you show indifference.
