Picking up girls in university

Hey guys, I'm pretty new to the scene here and I'm just starting to find out more about this PUA thing. I've watched mystery's videos (PUA season 1) and I kinda have the gist of things except my focus is the day game.

My goal is not to just go around farking any girl but actually to find a girl that I think I'd like to stick around with and go steady for a little bit so this is pretty much key to me. I'm in the "practice" stage right now and I've been lurking around this forum for answers. In particular I have found a link to a site which provided me with tips of picking up college girls. However, that guide seemed to only skim on the surface and everything else would cost some $37 USD. I don't want to go around spending hundreds to find that this stuff doesn't work. Some of the stuff is actually intuitive and I've already been doing it myself so I don't feel inclined to pay non-stop to read all this material.

I've met this girl that I think is just gorgeous I'd say she's an HB9 if not HB10 at least in my definitions. I've opened with her but I can't seem to get that "vibe" and funniness going. Is there anyway I can "learn" to become funnier other than trial in error? I mean.. if I want this HB9/10 girl, I can't afford to mess up. What can I do?

all women are the same. don't get one-itis with this one. one-itis is where you only focus on one girl and forget about all the other 7's 8's 9's and 10's. second of all, you've probably already shown too much interest. you can't be frustrated about this or you will be an AFC. you want to be a pua. you also want to know the terms so that you can speak in secret code like all the rest of us. but mainly don't seem interested in her. she gets a lot of attention for her looks. you have to stand out, or peacock, and you have to appear lively, fun, sociable, outgoing. make her approach you. that's my favorite one. they don't teach it in the game but you can become a chick magnet. subtle glances from across the room and not too much interest. catching her checking you out. always establish your intent but be covert about it. these things may seem subtle at first but you can really notice that the subtleties aren't so subtle once your game is a bit tighter. main thing is, botch this hb9 or hb10. you've probably ruined it. there's a three second rule as well. move on. there's plenty of hb's at college. your goal should be to fark them all. forget everything you learned in sunday school. be the alpha male. never be out alpha'd. saboteurs will come and being AMOG'd is one of the hardest things to recover from but you have to be able to juggle your ioi's and iod's while doing dhv and giving negs. it's all hard at first but you have to know the rules before you can break them. it may seem forced at first but with practice in the field you'll get used to it.
