Done a lot of reading - its overwhelming!

I'm kind of new to the scene (watched some old copies of VH1s The Pickup Artist) - I've been doing a lot of reading, but because there is so much out there its so overwhelming I don't know where to begin!

I understand the game is played in-field, and I obviously need to "begin" by approaching women, but the problem I appear to be having is that although I am understanding a lot of the concepts behind general game (such as a girl needs to be attracted to you before you can build Comfort with them otherwise you end up in the friend zone), I still have no clue really how to apply these concepts in real life. Obviously I don't want to learn and rely on a lot prepared word-for-word openers and stories etc, but I need some help to start me off.

Is there perhaps bullet points of things I can be doing (i.e. sorting out an avatar etc?)

p.s. any tips for improving an avatar / image on a very tight budget (I'm UK based). The majority of my clothes are sporty clothes e.g. tracksuits and football tops plus t-shirts from Matalan (a cheap shop where t-shirts are about £3 each). If it helps, I'm 21 years old, around average height (maybe just below) and relatively good looking and socially capable, I'm just not used to being, or comfortable (which makes me freeze up), around beautiful women.

A great thing to do is try to be SOCIAL with everyone. Start by chatting up guys and girls regardless of how hot the girls are. Treat hot girls the same as the ugly girls and just work on being social...

I agree with Bill. You'll realize, if your honest with yourself, that it isn't that you don't know what to do, it is Approach Anxiety that holds you back. It makes your nervous and makes you over think the approach. What I did and still do, to help myself with approach anxiety, is that I force myself to introduce, and chat with everyone I encounter. I just say the first thing that comes to mind.

Situational openers are the best for day game, anyway. So once you get in the habit, of saying something to get the girls attention, you will find that it is pretty easy to start actually gaming them.

Thanks guys - although I would try to argue somewhat that its not always aa, as a lot of times when I'm interacting with girls already who I don't know to well (friends of friends etc.) I can never think of things to say because I'm not relaxed enough and end up having awkward silences and the conversation dies, or someone else comes in and dominates the conversation because I have nothing to say.

Also, if you guys were to start again, what would you do first and second etc? (Begin to) sort out your image? Learn some openers? Work on inner game?

I lived in Oxford 10 or so years ago. Good bookshops and good chicks there. I used to see this hairdresser every morning on the bus. She was from Brize Norton and I used to think she was so amazing. the price of the clothes doesnt matter as soon as the clothes fit you well. dont take peacocking too far in fact take it like a grain of salt. sometimes ONE accessory or a piece of clothing can make you stand out. You dont have to be clownish to get attention and thats not the kind of attention you want.

Grooming does play a big part in the initial attraction phase. It's part of the first 7 seconds in a girl's mind if she wants to continue interacting with you or not. However, it's not solely depended on it.

Since you've read so much material already, you'd already know that this is about life building and not just about women. You need to balance out your finance to be able to afford better clothing. I'm not telling you to buy only fashion brands but if you up the look a bit, you will see drastic changes in your results.

Choose a comfortable hairstyle from magazines. Take a look at how the guys dress and style themselves. You also have to keep in mind that you want a congruent look. Don't try to look like a rock-star if you're more in sync with the classy style.

I'm the same age as you, started out on this forum about 6 months ago. Now I'm starting to actually open girls and having small conversations (not very long, more like 2-5 mins max) but things are picking up. Keep it up bro, push your limits and you will see the results like I did!

agree with that about life building. develop your skills and hobbies and what you love doing. we are attractive when we have a passion for things that give us joy as individuals. people see us enjoy ourselves and they may want a share in it

i am trying to get my financial life together and a mate of Bill Prestons referred me back to the Rich Dad, Poor Dad books that I had not been reminded of. I am chasing up other software and avenues so as to not go back to being an employee whilst working out a new direction vocationally

i have an active interest and passion for where my life goes. I don't just follow some girl cos she's hot or I am in love and that love is going to carry over into all my other responsibilities

My health is a huge asset and I continue working on it and with it. I employ 3 people on my medical team and half a couple of smaller part players. For me this means I keep my medical costs met (we have a very different system in Australia) and because of my experience and status as a citizen I have one medical officer assigned to me. I work in with him on any issues and because of my knowledge of what I faced I am able to give him information that helps others. I pay alot of attention to my health and ivest in it. I can spot chicks who don't look after them selves and I have a good nose for who to stay away from. It is all related
