Peacocking?

What does peacocking mean? I've heard in this PUA Forum that it is about making yourself stand out more against the other guys. Can someone show me an example?

Your right, peacocking is basically when you make yourself unique with an interesting shirt, an interesting piece of jewelry or a combination of things that generate interest. Here is an example of Mystery and some of his students peacocking:

Yes, but only because it makes them the most interesting people in the area.. it is not about looking foolish - it is about being unique.

I've also heard that you shouldn't get phased by other guys looking at you funny or coming up and asking you what your problem is.. that usually is just a sign that they are jealous or insecure because you are getting so much attention.

Jockey - send us a pic of what you wear when you go out.

That is something I have told my friends to pay attention to when we go out, they and myself do agree that those guys that do those things just find something they don't like about you...(possibly jealous or insecure)

Walk into a party or in your case a club with anything, that looks "nice" you don't need to look unique with what you wear...I am trying to perfect a routine where I walk into a party with more clothes on than everyone else...not like a heavy jacket and sweater and then button up shirt under it and hat on all that stuff...

Nah, just some nice glasses a hat, pants button up shirt, wrist watch, appropriate shoes the normal outfit...

What happens about 15 minutes from being inside the party/club(in your case I think?"...you don't want clothes on...that's what I say to myself when I walk into a party, I say " Wear what you want Lagron, after 15 mins it DOES NOT MATTER"...why?...

well I am working on something that makes the girls take my clothes off and wear them for themselves...(the hat on one chick, the wrist watch on another, glasses go onto another and necklace on another, (depending on the number of chicks...give more then one item/have the chicks have maybe 2 things of mine on...ignore the target (the girl you really want)) and don't take your shirt off...working/testing some things still not perfected, everyone takes/wears something of mine, my shirt stays...target feels "sad" she has gotten nothing from me...I act like I don't care...make it evident I don't give a hoot about her and pop the question ( no not marriage, forget that word until you lose your game hehe)...the question relates to her taking my shirt if she, in one of my tests, dances on the table...

she can't do that, the normal it'll make me look like a slut/I can't dance replies and then I change the question to something related to her taking my shirt off so that I can teach her to dance more comfortably...

You teach her to dance on the table...well thats the end of my "Who cares about clothes when you know you'll get them taken off type of thing."

(Ow also, don't worry I don't wear expensive watches/hats/glasses...afraid of getting them stolen...)

Overall, dress WELL to stand out...so you get more attention...

Dress okay, and gain attention when you're dancing on the table with no shirt on, with a top notch girl (rating 10)...if she can't dance/says she can't dance, teach her...why else did she take your shirt?...to learn to dance of course hehe...

Dude - gettin girls to hold your stuff is amazing. It basically makes a super hard connection between you guys... she now is responsible for something of yours (even if it is a $1 bracelet). That is a great way to time bridge to the next date or even later that night.

The bracelets are less than 1 dollar sometimes too...have you ever bought a bag of bracelet candy...? it's candy on a piece of stringy (lol) material with circle candy around it...you can get a bag of them for about 3 dollars : )

If you can ware something, that is edible (or eatable heh not sure which word is the right one) all the better...you can have a girl eat the candy off your neck you should try it...or have them eat something off your wrist, any of them is good, to increase the Kino, this girl said it was just a reason for her to get closer to me... hiding (to her friends) that she would have loved to get that close anyways...in my opinion it made her seem more like a "slut" eating off my neck in the middle of the party...but who cares right?

After she is done with eating your eatable necklace...I've had them buy me a whole bag of them, (just another reason to spend more time together)...even had this girl say she wanted more so we went over to my place for some candy...heh.

There are a number of things you can try, but merely having them be responsible for something of yours, can lead to her sending it over to your place...or you can do this...try a NUMBER of different sets (about 4) , giving everyone in those sets something of yours to hold and saying before you leave them that you would like to have it back at x o'clock that night...and to meet you at x place (in the club for example/entrance/exit or on the street outside the place)...

Well...the object makes them think about you, while you leave them to practice on another set...they may or may not "stalk" you while you're in the club which is not bad either, they will try to make sure they are not late or they all gather around with their friends near the exit, so that they see me when I walk out the place...they ALL FOLLOW YOU...when I left the place, I walked out taking a small glance at the girl's eyes so that they know I was still there.

I walked out alone, and walked in the middle of the road acting like I was on the phone, they all ( 9 girls ) walk over to me, while I am pretending to be on the phone...they try to speak to me, I pointed to 3 of theirs mouths/touched their lips/closed them (the hotter/best ones of the group)(not sure how to describe that) and then point to my mouth with a, close your mouth type of look...they do shut their mouths...and I continue to talk on the phone for about 30 seconds more...(by now they are all either staring at me or playing with the glasses or hats or starting to talk to eachother)...one of them tried handing back the hat with a smile on her face, I kissed her on the cheek/gave her a hug/while saying, just hold up a second on the phone. The hat she gave me back went on the 1st hottest one there.

Comment the ones you are not that interested in, and I said something like (not sure exactly) "Hope you all had fun tonight, I won't see you next time there are just so many other choices or places to go and people to meet" and put it on the hotest one there without paying much attention to her/her expression. You hug/kiss ON THE CHEEK the not (hottest one there, or the one you want)...while taking the things you put on them back, and having the target hold it (if it's the watch, grab her hand and put it on for her) when it was the glasses stroke her hair and adjust them to fit perfectly...while doing this "I told her, let me just see how this looks on you." Well for everything I got back, while doing so, I complemented how they looked with it/cheek kiss/hug and only got the numbers of the ones who were the most patient/possibly hotter than a number of the rest of them( 2 of them). Well now everything I had given to others to hold is back to me and transferred to the TARGET (the one you really wanted this entire night)...

I said something alone the lines of "Hey, (the persons name), could you believe all these things these girls took of mine, I almost forgot about them all. I am soo tired tonight...used another small routine of mine (i'll never share that, except with these 2 guys I already have shared it with/they helped in coming up with it)...

Well the girl (the real target...the one that had my shirt from the start ends up with myself sending her to her house/she instead of now holding my shirt around, had worn it because it was cold at night (truth is the only piece of clothing you should care about is your shirt/pants and glasses)

There should be other sources/ideas of your own that would get her to let you inside of her house...I acted like I had to leave, and that IT WAS REALLY IMPORTANT, she starts taking off the shirt I had given her right there and then while I told her to go to her bedroom to change...it didn't matter where she was changing/ ...well you can think of the rest/adapt to what you like to do...

Sorry on the post's extensive/maybe confusing parts...

But overall, have them wear edible things/shirt always goes to the TARGET YOU WANT, and of course don't forget to try this on more than one set, (I just like attention...and don't mind walking out with no shirt on...it's just another reason for people to follow me).

Well tell me what you think on my long routine in short detail, sorry to leave a specific routine out...it's just too important to myself/2 of my friends that came up with it.

Hey guys, good thread. The important thing to realize is that peacocking is relative to the environment you're in. Let's use some evolutionary biology to explain.

Costly signaling theory is a term used by academics to describe the phenomenon whereby animals "signal" their sexual fitness with indicators that are costly to obtain or maintain. In a nutshell, the idea is that if you have the ability to waste energy on such costly and conspicuous display, you have good genes.

The common example is the peacock's feathers. Contrary to popularly-held belief, it is not the attention that the feathers draw that is attractive.

Rather, it is the fact that a big, brilliant display of feathers is heavy, requires sufficient nutrition, and is otherwise costly to maintain. So a male peacock who can maintain such a bouquet has clearly demonstrated his ability to thrive, and his genes are probably good ones.

"Peacocking," then, in the classic PUA sense (i.e. what Mystery wears), is not attractive to females because it draws attention. Rather, in some environments, it represents a style of attire that would only be worn by a man whose social skills could pull off such an outfit. He is signaling that he will be a fun, confident man.

But the attractiveness of any signal depends on the value systems of the women and the environment.

You see, evolutionary psychologists have three identified different types of conspicuous signaling:

1.) conspicuous waste: signals that flaunt superiority through mass and are flagrantly wasteful, like Hummers and "McMansion" homes

2.) conspicuous precision: signals that flaunt superiority through design and are the result of precise engineering, such as a custom-tailored suit or "green" products like hybrid vehicles

3.) conspicuous reputation: signals that flaunt their superiority through exclusivity, such as a Harvard degree or an Hermes belt

So in general, for example, Americans is more into wasteful signaling, whereas Japanese are more about precision signaling, and in emerging capitalist economies (i.e. China, Russia) signaling is more about reputation. Again, broad generalizations, but fairly accurate.

When you consider the type of women you'd like, you have to consider which type of signaling is going to be most attractive to them. And of course, this depends on what *you* value. I don't think there's any particular right or wrong (well, a 10 MPG hummer is hard to justify these days), but it can be helpful to look around the places where you're trying to meet women and figure out which signals are going to be most effective at drawing their attention.

Of course, there is crossover amongst traits. A Patek Phillipe watch is both precise and has a strong reputation.

And there are some traits which are universally attractive. An attractive face is good because we are a social species who communicate through our faces. And a well-maintained body indicates fitness for many reasons: its maintenance requirements and the type of work required to sculpt it (precision), its representation in popular media (reputation) and the caloric intake required to maintain it (waste).
