Does a woman telling things about herself qualify as qualifying?

If a girl that I know quasi likes me and I ask "whats up" and she volunteers "I'm quitting smoking" or "I just got a new job at XXXX, it's really cool". Is this qualifying or a form of it? A minor ioi assuming she is not so talkative with just about anyone?

I know this girl liked me in the past, but I never did anything about it and now I see her again with my new revolutionized attitude and well.....maybe time to try again with my new skillset
