small problem when at bars/clubs

hey guys I need advice on turning a small disadvantage into a positive. For the longest time, I didn't think it was a problem, but now I think it may be a reason I've had no game at bars/clubs the past few years.

After spending 8 years working in a manufacturing plant, I've become slightly tone deaf. I'm not hearing impaired by medical standards. But if I'm in a noisy restaurant, or a bar/club with a band or a DJ playing music, I'm practically oblivious to conversations around me. The only way I can hear when in those situations, is if they talk almost directly in my ear.

The past few days I've thought, "how do I get around this?" I've thought about handing one of those magnetic magic boards around my neck flava flav style, but I'm thinking that's too cheesy.

Any other ideas? Thoughts? Comments?

Hi! if the problem lies with noisy venues, then perhaps you should try gaming quieter places. I started my PUA training in coffee shops and outdoor bazaars. A word of warning though, it's a bit different than gaming pubs and night clubs. You have to be more subtle in the day time. Women go to pubs halfway expecting to meet somebody, but that's not the case at a day spot. However, if your game is tight then you shouldn't have much trouble adjusting. At least you'd be able to hear the girls you're sarging!
